This was my first experience experiencing an incident like this on a toll road, making the atmosphere quite panicky and confusing.
In this condition, Ali tried to contact several parties, including family and colleagues. One suggestion that came in was to contact the Jasa Marga call center. An Astra patrol vehicle suddenly appeared at the scene and immediately approached with a friendly and empathetic attitude. Without waiting to be asked, two officers immediately stepped in and swiftly handled the flat tire experienced by Ali’s Toyota Rush.
While waiting for the handling process, Ali had a chat with the officers and asked if this kind of service was only provided for vehicles from the Astra group. The officers politely answered that all types of vehicles were entitled to assistance without exception, this was part of Astra’s service. Apparently Astra is the majority shareholder of the Cipali Toll management.
The officers also explained that this service is divided into two teams, namely the Karawang-Subang team and the Subang-Palimanan team. They work 24 hours a day, seven days a week in shifts to comb the toll road and help drivers who experience technical problems or emergencies.
The repair process was fast and professional. After it was finished, Ali expressed his sincere gratitude to the officers and took the initiative to give a tip as a form of appreciation. However, the offer was firmly rejected.
“This is indeed our job. We are not allowed to accept any compensation,” said one of the officers humbly.
They only received a bottle of drinking water as a simple form of appreciation that was allowed.
For this experience, Ali Aminulloh expressed his respect and high appreciation.
