Bojongsari Tourism Area Abandoned, Unexplored Tourism Potential
INDRAMAYU JAYA NEWS.COM – The Bojongsari tourism area (BSI) located in Bojongsari Village, Indramayu District, Indramayu Regency is expected to be an attraction for local tourists and the surrounding community, but is now abandoned and unkempt. In fact, this area has the potential for local natural and cultural tourism as well as the Bojongsari reservoir which is usually used as a hangout for city and surrounding communities.
According to local residents, the Bojongsari tourism area was once a popular destination several years ago, but now its condition is increasingly concerning.
“The existing facilities are damaged, there is no maintenance, and no promotion is carried out,” said one resident named Sukman, a youth figure and trader around the tourist area, Sunday, June 22, 2025.
The local government is considered not to have maximized its management and development of this tourism area.
“We hope the government can pay more attention to the Bojongsari tourist area, so that the tourism potential here can be developed properly,” said another resident.
There are three locations that need attention and improvement around the Bojongsari tourist area, including the Cakra Bangsa Building, Water Boom and the Curug Air Terjun artificial building which is now abandoned.
Hopefully there will be attention from the local government and related agencies because it is a local government asset that can generate regional income and can boost the economy of the surrounding community.
With proper management and good maintenance, the Bojongsari tourist area can again become a popular tourist destination and provide economic benefits to the surrounding community.**
