Jombang Vocational School Teacher Named Among 19 National Finalists for ASRI Awards 2025

JOMBANG-JAYA NEWS.COM – Achmad Uzlul Rozik, a teacher at SMK Sehat Insan Perjuangan Jombang, has been selected as one of 19 national finalists for the ASRI Awards 2025. He is the only finalist from the vocational school level representing East Java.

The ASRI Awards is a recognition program for sustainability ideas and projects for students, teachers, and schools organized by Akademi Sekolah Lestari in collaboration with Kompas TV, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and Unilever.

Rozik is promoting the Sugar Smart Squad (3S) innovation, a health education project that transforms students from passive beverage label readers into agents of change capable of designing health solutions for the community.

The principal of SMK Sehat Insan Perjuangan stated that this achievement is a great source of pride for the school.

“The Sugar Smart Squad innovation proves that vocational education is capable of producing real solutions relevant to health graduate profiles. We hope this will inspire other teachers to continue innovating,” the principal said.

Sulianto, Vice Principal for Public Relations at SMK Sehat Insan Perjuangan, told reporters on Tuesday (December 23, 2025) that the program has reached eight elementary schools in Jombang through the Road to School initiative.

“This is an extraordinary form of community service,” he said.

The 3S program has reached partner schools including SDN Ngrimbi 1, SDN Menganto, SDN Ngudirejo 1, SDN Kademangan, SDN Wonosalam 5, SDN Mancilan 3, SLB Tunas Harapan 3, and MI Najatud Daroini. Using a joyful learning method, students are taught to calculate sugar content through applications and understand the Nutri-Grade system on beverage packaging.

The ASRI Awards 2025 final event is being held at Graha Utama Hall of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Jakarta.

Rozik competed with 332 applicants from across Indonesia, with 13 student team finalists and 6 teacher team finalists from various regions including Aceh, Gorontalo, and DKI Jakarta.***
