Krimun Village Residents Appreciate Irrigation Retaining Wall Construction, Express Gratitude to Regent Lucky Hakim

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS COM – The residents of Krimun Village, Losarang District, expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Regent of Indramayu, Lucky Hakim, for the construction of an irrigation retaining wall (TPT) in their village.

The construction of the irrigation retaining wall is part of the Development and Management of Primary and Secondary Irrigation Systems in Irrigation Areas under 1,000 hectares, with the sub-activity of Surface Irrigation Network Improvement.

The project, funded by the Indramayu Regency Budget for the 2025 Fiscal Year through the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Agency, has a budget ceiling of Rp299,986,500 and a negotiated contract value of Rp299,163,561.66. The project, carried out by CV. Sigit Putra, is considered crucial for supporting the residents’ agricultural activities.

Krimun Village residents believe the construction of the irrigation system has brought significant benefits, particularly in maintaining the smooth flow of water to the rice fields and preventing canal damage due to erosion.

“We are very grateful and thankful to Regent Lucky Hakim. With the construction of this irrigation system, our rice fields can be irrigated more smoothly and farmers can feel more at ease during the planting season,” said Tarjo, a local resident, to the press on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Sadi, another resident, echoed this sentiment, noting that the irrigation system was often damaged, hampering water distribution. With this development, they are optimistic that agricultural productivity will increase.

“The construction of the irrigation system in Krimun Village is indeed worthy of appreciation. In addition to helping smooth water distribution to the rice fields, this project also demonstrates the local government’s attention to the basic needs of farmers.” In short, he added, “With better irrigation, the risk of canal damage due to erosion can be reduced and agricultural productivity has the potential to increase. “Hopefully, similar development programs can be continued in other areas so that the benefits can be felt more widely by the community.”

Meanwhile, representatives from CV. Sigit Putra emphasized that his team is committed to carrying out the work in accordance with applicable regulations.

“We are carrying out the work in accordance with regulations, with attention to quality, specifications, and timeliness. We hope that the community will truly feel the benefits of this work,” he said.

The Krimun Village community hopes that similar development projects can be implemented in other areas of Indramayu that still suffer from inadequate irrigation.

This project is a clear demonstration of the Indramayu Regency Government’s commitment to realizing the Indramayu REANG vision of strengthening the agricultural sector through the development of appropriate infrastructure.**
