INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM- Commemoration of 1 Syuro 1447 Hijriyah, at the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin Al-Zaytun Mosque in Gantar Indramayu, was held on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Al-Zaytun continues to provide “surprises” to the world. Syaykh Al-Zaytun, AS. Panji Gumilang delivered a big idea, with the theme “Towards Revolutionary Transformation of Boarding Education for the Realization of Modern Indonesia in the 21st Century, 100 Years of Independence.”
The format of this Hijri New Year commemoration is different from previous commemorations.
Before delivering the Syaykh’s idea, the Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Foundation, Datuk Sir Imam Prawoto, KRSS. MBA. CRBC., representing the organizing committee greeted the figures present from various circles.
He also explained that the number of participants who attended reached 15,172 people who came from various regions, including from neighboring Malaysia and Singapore.
Furthermore, the Chairman of YPI officially introduced the visionary idea of Syaikh Abdussalam Panji Gumilang. This idea, called “Novum Gradum” with the L-STEAM approach (Law, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics), aims to implement comprehensive education. Through the idea of ”The Idea of Indonesian Education 2045 in 500 Boarding Education Areas,” Al-Zaytun is determined to form a whole person towards a solid Golden Indonesia civilization based on Pancasila, marking a significant leap in the national education narrative.
In his in-depth presentation, Syaykh Al-Zaytun AS Panji Gumilang, S.Sos. MP outlined the vision of “Indonesian Education 2045”, a spectacular blueprint to overcome the fundamental problems of education in the country.
He identified the current philosophy of Indonesian education that tends to be linear, in contrast to the spiral progress achieved by other nations, resulting in stagnation. Indonesia’s geographical challenges as a large archipelagic country, where the education model is centered in Java and many remote areas are underserved, have exacerbated this condition. By highlighting issues such as single teachers in remote elementary schools and inconsistent policy changes.
Syaykh Panji Gumilang emphasized the urgency of a “new leap” or Novum Gradum to achieve champion status in the eyes of the world by 2045.
“As a revolutionary solution, Novum Gradum proposes the establishment of 500 boarding education areas in every district/city throughout Indonesia, each with an area of at least 3,000 hectares,” he said.
He continued his idea, this concept includes full scholarships for 50 million students up to grade 15 (equivalent to half a bachelor’s degree) and the integration of the L-STEAM curriculum (Law, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) to form a generation that is proficient and has legal insight.
Syaykh Panji Gumilang believes that state funds are more than enough for this project, even projecting that Indonesia will be able to achieve food self-sufficiency (20 tons of rice/hectare/year) and build modern infrastructure such as the Trans-Island fast train by 2045, marking Indonesia’s rise as a “powerful” force on the global stage.
The positive response from national figures to the Novum Gradum idea of Syaykh A.S. Panji Gumilang.
