Newly Inaugurated Indramayu Police Chief Holds Gathering and Builds Synergy with Local Media

INDRAMAYU, Jaya News.Com — The Chief of Indramayu Police, AKBP Prianggo Parlindungan Malau, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si, held a gathering with media representatives across Indramayu Regency at Cafe Birubhi, Jl. Tanjungpura No. 02, Karang Anyar, Indramayu District, West Java, on Saturday (01/08/2026) night.

The event marked the beginning of AKBP Prianggo’s leadership in building strong communication and synergy between the Indonesian National Police and media professionals to maintain public order and security within the jurisdiction of Indramayu Police.

AKBP Prianggo, who previously served as Head of Vehicle Registration Sub-Directorate at the Central Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate, was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Police, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Head of Intelligence Unit, Head of Narcotics Unit, Head of Traffic Unit, and Head of Public Relations. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In his remarks, the Police Chief emphasized that the media plays a strategic role as a partner of the Police in delivering accurate, fast, and calming information to the public.

“The media is a bridge between the Police and the public. Without the support of our media colleagues, positive information about police efforts would not reach the community. Therefore, this synergy must be maintained,” said AKBP Prianggo.

He also urged media practitioners to work together to counter hoaxes, hate speech, and news that could potentially divide unity, especially ahead of major regional events.

The Police Chief plans to make this gathering a routine agenda, at least once a month, as a forum to strengthen communication and partnership.

“We are not against criticism. In fact, constructive criticism from the media will be used as evaluation material to improve our services. Our doors are open 24 hours,” he stated firmly.

Appreciation from Media Representatives

The Chairman of IWO Indramayu, Ali Maknawi (Almak), appreciated the initiative of the Police Chief who has only been in office for 3 days.

“Gatherings like this are important to prevent miscommunication between the Police and media in the field. We are ready to collaborate. Our job is to straighten out information, while the Police’s job is to maintain security. With good communication, Indramayu will become more conducive,” said Almak.

The event continued with casual discussions, introductions among media personnel, dinner together, and a group photo session. The atmosphere remained warm and full of camaraderie.

With this synergy established, it is hoped that the Indramayu Police and media representatives can serve as the frontline in providing accurate information and maintaining security stability in Indramayu Regency.**
