182 Graduates Inaugurated, UNWIR Emphasizes the Importance of Technological Adaptation and Ethics
Indramayu, Jaya News.Com – Wiralodra University (UNWIR) Indramayu held its first batch of 2026 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree graduation ceremonies at the Nyi Endang Dharma Ayu Convention Hall. A total of 182 graduates from 17 study programs were officially inaugurated in a solemn ceremony, Saturday, April 25, 2026.
This event is an indicator of UNWIR’s consistency in producing human resources ready to face the challenges of the times, especially amidst the acceleration of digital transformation.
UNWIR Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Ujang Suratno, S.H., M.Sc., stated in his statement that of all study programs, two programs have not yet graduated students in this first batch.
“For this first wave, there are 182 graduates from 17 study programs. Only two study programs have not yet graduated: the Master of Religion program, which is still new, and Environmental Engineering, which has also not yet reached the final stage.” He also praised the academic achievements of the graduates. According to him, all study programs have succeeded in producing top students, with the majority being women.
“Alhamdulillah, every study program has its best, and I am proud that the best are women,” he added.
In his speech, Prof. Ujang emphasized that university graduates are required not only to master academic skills but also to be able to adapt to technological developments in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
“We are now in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, which is the era of digital transformation. Students cannot simply rely on hard skills; they must also master them,” he said.
He explained that technological change is occurring very rapidly and impacting almost all sectors, including education and the business world.
“Therefore, students must be prepared to continuously learn and adapt.
Today’s educational process is increasingly utilizing technology. “Changes are no longer hourly, but can be minute or even second-by-minute. This is what graduates must realize,” he explained.
Amidst rapid technological developments, the Rector also emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical and moral values as the nation’s identity.
“What will never change are ethics and morality. Indonesia has its own culture and values, and these must be continuously maintained,” he said.
Furthermore, he highlighted the challenges facing universities in increasing public interest in continuing their education, especially amidst an unstable economy.
“We face the challenge of how people will want to pursue higher education. With the economy still not so good, this is a challenge in itself,” he said.
UNWIR, he continued, will remain committed to improving the quality of education by strengthening science and technology, while expanding access to education for the public.
“Knowledge never stagnates; it always evolves. What is taught today may be irrelevant tomorrow. Therefore, students must continue to learn and master new knowledge, especially technology,” he concluded.**
