Deputy Regent Syafaruddin Poti Attends Inauguration of Ninik Mamak of the Ampu Tribe in Luhak Kepenuhan

ROKAN HULU-JAYA NEWS.COM – Deputy Regent of Rokan Hulu (Rohul) H. Syafaruddin Poti, S.H., M.M. attended the inauguration of Ninik Mamak of the Ampu Tribe in Luhak Kepenuhan, Kepenuhan District, Saturday (11/15/2025).

Accompanied by the Head of the Education and Culture Office, Damri Poti, S.Sos., M.Ap., the Head of the Kepenuhan District, Gustia Hendri, S.Sos., M.Si., representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Tourism Office, the Military District Commander (Danramil) and the Police Chief, the Head of the Luhak Kepenuhan LKA, Datuk Bondaro Sakti Drs. H. Effendi R., the Head of the Tribe and Ninik Mamak, and other traditional leaders and community members.

Deputy Regent Syafaruddin Poti, who is also a nephew of the Ampu Luhak Kepenuhan tribe, expressed his hope that those inaugurated today would carry out this traditional mandate well.

“This traditional mandate is different from government. It is a noble task because it will serve as a role model for your children and nephews. Carry it out sincerely and to the best of your ability,” said the Deputy Regent.

Syafaruddin Poti also stated that this traditional duty is very difficult and that the position cannot be contested, as it will face retribution if it is not carried out properly and in accordance with prevailing customs.

“Tradition is not far from religion. When traditions are maintained, morals and ethics must also be maintained as role models for your children and nephews in the future,” concluded the Deputy Regent.

The Head of the Luhak Kepenuhan LKA, Datuk Bondaro Sakti, Drs. H. Effendi R, stated that in carrying out traditional inaugurations, we must follow the agreed rules established by our predecessors.

“Today’s inauguration of the Ampu Tribe included 10 people: the first was the tribe’s leader, Dasril, with the title of Datuk Menaro Mudo; the second was the tribe leader for Kota Tengah, with the title of Mamak Sutan Majo, Suwardi; the third was the tribe leader for Rantau Binuang Sakti, with the title of Mamak Sutan Maharajo, Alfi, and seven other members of the Ampu Tribe.

The Head of the LKA also stated that there had been a vacancy in the leadership of the Ampu Tribe in Luhak Kepenuhan for approximately five years. The event has been completed in accordance with applicable customary regulations. Hopefully, this marks the beginning of a new, positive step for the Ampu Tribe going forward.
