Solok Regency DPRD Speaker Holds Discussion with BNN Head to Discuss Drug Prevention

SOLOK-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Speaker of the Solok Regency DPRD, Ivoni Munir, S.Farm, Apt., received a visit from the Acting Head of the Solok Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Irwan Suhandra, S.Kep, M.M., on Friday, October 3, 2025, to discuss drug eradication and prevention efforts in the region.

During the meeting, Ivoni Munir, S.Farm, Apt., familiarly known as Mak Poni, emphasized that the DPRD is ready to support every BNN program to achieve a Solok Regency free from drug abuse, in line with the motto Solok Bersinar (Solok Bersinar, or Solok Clean from Drugs). According to him, cross-sectoral synergy, from the village government, sub-district, regional government, DPRD, law enforcement officers, and the community, is essential for optimal drug prevention.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Solok National Narcotics Agency (BNNK), Irwan Suhandra, stated that drug abuse remains a serious threat to the younger generation. Therefore, his agency continues to promote the Community-Based Innovation (IBM) program, which involves policymakers at the village level, through outreach, education, and community empowerment to actively participate in drug prevention.

On the same occasion, Ivoni Munir, S. Farm, Apt., emphasized that the Solok Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) will promote budget policies that support drug prevention programs, particularly through educational, social, and religious activities. “We must save the next generation from the dangers of drugs,” said the alumnus of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Andalas University.

Mak Poni also added that the DPRD is ready to help strengthen the BNN program by proposing key ideas, including the procurement of drug testing equipment. He hopes that the concrete steps taken by the Solok BNNK can be further strengthened with the support of all stakeholders, including village heads, the National Land Agency (BPN), the DPRD, and the local government.

“With solid synergy, we are confident that drug prevention efforts in Solok Regency can be more effective,” he concluded.**
