Through the Guidance of Female Inmates at Pasir Pengaraian Prison, Female Inmates at Pasir Pengaraian Prison Improve Their Quran Recitation
PASIR PENGARAIAN-JAYA NEWS.COM – Pasir Pangaraian Class IIB Prison once again held a personality development activity in the form of a regular Quran recitation specifically for female inmates on Friday (September 26, 2025). This time, the recitation focused on introducing the hijaiyah letters and training in fluent Quran recitation.
This training activity featured an external female inmate as a teacher, who patiently guided the inmates in recognizing each letter of the hijaiyah alphabet, pronouncing them correctly, and progressing to reading the Quranic verses in tartil.
The Head of Pasir Pengaraian Class IIB Prison, Efendi Parlindungan Purba, through the Head of the Guidance and Education Section, Sunu Istiqomah Danu, stated that this recitation activity is part of the development program consistently provided to all inmates.
“We are committed to providing beneficial guidance, one of which is through religious studies, so that inmates can connect with the Quran more closely and gain a strong spiritual foundation for a better life after their release,” he said.
Through this activity, it is hoped that female inmates will not only become more familiar with the hijaiyah alphabet and Quranic recitation, but also strengthen their faith and find peace of mind while serving their sentences in prison. This activity aligns with the Daily Order of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections, the direction of the Director General of Corrections, and guidance from the Head of the Riau Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections.**
