Disseminating Training Results as an Effort to Build Equality
Al-Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) once again demonstrated its commitment to improving educational quality by holding a Deep Learning Socialization on September 4, 2025, at the Al-Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) office. The event, which took place from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM WIB, was attended by 35 tutors and featured three keynote speakers: Sahrul Abadi, S.Pd.I., Abdul Karim, S.Mn., M.Pd., and Giarto, S.Pd.
This initiative was not without preparation. Previously, Al-Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) had sent Giarto, S.Pd. to participate in the In-Depth Learning Training held by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education on July 23–28, 2025. The training brought together elementary, junior high, and high school principals, and heads of Community Learning Centers (PKBM) receiving BOS Performance Funds. Furthermore, PKBM also sent two other tutors, Abdul Karim and Sahrul Abadi Haryanta, to deepen their knowledge through a similar training held in Indramayu on July 30–August 5, 2025.
Awareness of the importance of sawasiyah (equality) in understanding among tutors led PKBM Al-Zaytun to take the strategic step of disseminating the training results. According to Dr. Ali Aminulloh, S.Ag., M.Pd.I., ME, the main goal of this activity was to align the perceptions and approaches of tutors in implementing learning within the PKBM environment, thereby creating harmony and a uniform learning quality.
Exploring the Dimensions, Principles, and Framework of Deep Learning
The first session was delivered by Sahrul Abadi Haryanta, S.Pd., who emphasized the importance of eight dimensions of the graduate profile: faith and piety, citizenship, critical reasoning, creativity, collaboration, independence, health, and communication. He explained that deep learning is not just about teaching, but rather about encouraging students to be active, critical, and find joy in the learning process. He emphasized that this approach differs from teaching children, as adult learners require an interactive environment that is relevant to their lives.
The next session was delivered by Abdul Karim, S.Mn., M.Pd., who outlined the principles, experiences, and framework of deep learning. He stated that the main principles that must be adhered to are awareness, meaning, and joy. The ideal learning process should enable students to understand, apply, and reflect on the material being studied. “Learning is not just about memorizing, but building awareness and meaning that is relevant to the needs of learners,” he emphasized. This learning framework, he continued, must be based on clear learning objectives and be contextualized to real life.
Meanwhile, Giarto, S.Pd., emphasized the importance of a growth mindset in immersive learning. He contrasted this with a fixed mindset, which tends to be passive and accepts circumstances as they are. “Tutors need to instill optimism and a drive for continuous development so that learners can face challenges in any situation,” he explained. He also outlined indicators of immersive learning, such as active engagement, critical thinking, application in real-world contexts, independence, use of technology, and healthy feedback mechanisms. All of this is framed within the characteristics of learner-centered, meaningful, contextual, reflective, and process-oriented learning.
Participant Enthusiasm: From Insight to Real Action
The socialization atmosphere became even more lively as tutors shared their impressions. Khoerun, S.H., one of the participants, expressed his enjoyment of participating in the activity. He believed the presentation provided new references for developing classroom teaching methods. Sri Wahyuni, S.Pd., expressed a similar sentiment, saying she gained fresh insights into how immersive learning can be implemented in practice.
This enthusiasm reflects the success of the Al-Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) in fostering a collaborative academic climate. The tutors come not only as participants but also bring a passion for applying deep learning concepts in their daily lives. This way, students at the Al-Zaytun PKBM will enjoy a more meaningful, relevant, and character-building learning experience.
Epilogue: Sowing the Seeds of Change
This outreach activity is more than just a transfer of knowledge. It is a movement for change that stems from the Al-Zaytun PKBM’s commitment to providing quality and equitable education. By understanding deep learning, the tutors are expected to become agents of transformation, fostering critical, creative, and collaborative thinking among students.
It is from the PKBM classrooms that the seeds of change are sown. Education is no longer simply about fulfilling a curriculum, but a path to developing individuals who are aware, meaningful, and ready to learn.
Facing the challenges of the times. May this spirit continue to grow and inspire, believing that every small effort in education is a major investment in the nation’s future.**
