Sri Lankan Contingent Commander Visits Sudirman Camp, FHQSU XXVI-Q
SUDIRMAN CAMP, LEBANON – JAYA NEWS COM – Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Commander of the Sri Lankan Contingent for the UNIFIL mission, Lt. Col. Yommerengnga Seamon Hewage Nilantha Prasad Silva, along with a group of Sri Lankan Force Protection Unit officers, paid a courtesy visit to Sudirman Camp, the headquarters of the Force Headquarters Support Unit (FHQSU) Task Force XXVI-Q. The visit was welcomed by the Commander of the FHQSU XXVI-Q Task Force, Colonel Inf. Allan Surya Lesmana, S.Sos., and his staff officers.
This activity was part of the initial meeting program of the new Sri Lankan Contingent, as an introduction and part of the cooperation and coordination agenda between the contingents to strengthen operational synergy as an integral unit of the FHQSU’s duties and functions as the Force Protection coordinator. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two sides discussed the dynamics of the mission’s tasks, challenges in the field, and opportunities for closer cooperation.
Colonel Allan stated that this visit was a tangible demonstration of the spirit of togetherness and mutual respect between the contingents. “We greatly appreciate this visit as a form of friendship and a shared commitment to continue maintaining peace and stability in the mission area,” he said.
During the series of activities, Marine Major (S) Chiven C. Sondakh, M.T., as the person in charge of the event, emphasized that this inter-country welcome event was an opportunity for Indonesian military diplomacy by introducing the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)’s culture of Unity in Diversity, a manifestation of the identity and character of the PRIMA (Prime) TNI Soldiers.
