The Kosakata Literary Community Has Been Born, Joko Mulyono: Optimistic About the Development of Literary Literacy in West Jakarta
JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – The West Jakarta Kosakata Literary Community has been born, with the inauguration of its board members conducted by the Head of the West Jakarta Culture Sub-dept., Joko Mulyono.
“With the birth of this Kosakata Literary Community, I am optimistic about the development of literary literacy in the West Jakarta area,” said the Head of the West Jakarta Culture Sub-dept., Joko Mulyono, at the Auditorium of the Arts and Culture Training Center (PPSB), Jln. Rama Raya No. 1, Rawa Buaya, West Jakarta, on Friday afternoon (July 18, 2025).
The literary inauguration of the new Kosakota Literary Community board for the 2025-2027 period was preceded by an opening dance by the Kosakata Studio.
This was followed by the reading of the first poem by Jose Rizal Manua, entitled “Biarin” and “Ini Lagu Terpendek di Dunia.”
Following this, a poetry reading by Moctavianus Masheka (Bung Octa) was performed, accompanied by musical instruments by Sylvi and Aurel, and Anto Ristargie, with a Sufi dance background.
Furthermore, the poetry anthology “Kosakata Kota” (City Vocabulary) was launched, the first edition of which was released in July 2025. Curated by Anton RSJ, Jose Rizal Manua, and Moctavianus Masheka, and an afterword by Sofyan RH Zaid.
This 161-page poetry anthology was published by the Kosakata Literature Community with support from the West Jakarta Cultural Office.
“A work born of love, observation, and reflection on our place: West Jakarta. I welcome the presence of this poetry anthology. Amidst the fast-paced flow of modern life, books are valuable markers, we could even call them cultural assets. They record traces of feelings, reflect collective memories, and are part of efforts to preserve cultural identity, especially for the residents of West Jakarta,” said Joko Mulyono.
The event also included poetry musicalizations by Anthiroum Musikal, St. Kristoforus, and Tersajakanlah.
A poetry reading parade included performances by Romy Sastra, Indarpramesti, Farinnisa, Serepina, Sitinah, Tri Adi Sarwoko, and Iwan Armawan. Monologues by Chintya and Emi Suy.
Reciprocal pantun performances by Andreas Panji Pangestu (Panji) and Ronaldo Rosalino (Aldo), and oral literature/storytelling by Kukuh Santoso.
Poetry dramatizations featuring EB. Magor, Jack Al Ghozali, Rony Sahrony, Herry Tany, Koko Kartiko, Puguh JK, and Le Suyud, followed by acoustic music by the bands Boim Blanko and Jambul. (***)
