What are the demands of the TNI retirees submitted to the government, according to Amir Hamzah as a senior activist who has been a witness at least since the New Order to far beyond the 1998 Reform Order, the corrections from the TNI retirees should be supported because they are an awareness of the mistakes made by the ABRI Faction — at that time — supporting the amendment to the 1945 Constitution which is now the cause of various damages that have occurred in our country as is felt to this day.
Amir Hamzah’s serious statement was expressed in a discussion forum held by Aspirasi Indonesia at the Secretariat and post for women activists on Jl. Pati No. 26, Menteng Jakarta, Monday, June 2, 2025. The next series of discussions has been confirmed by Wati Salam to continue on June 22, 2925 at the same place.
The discussion that will be held routinely every Sunday has not been able to be held by Aspirasi Indonesia, added Bunda Wati Salam as the General Chairperson of this Indonesian women’s association, to be able to become a reflection material related to topics that are currently emerging in Indonesia, such as commemorating Pancasila Day which is believed by some people on June 1, although no less many believe in the birth of Pancasila on August 18, or on other dates and based on momentum at other times.
The discussion topic presented by Amir Hamzah also touched on the big theme of Aspirasi which continues to persistently fight for Anti-Islamophobia, to be included by the government in the national calendar and official holidays, so that it can become a permanent commemoration that has been carried out by the UN – the United Nations – which is worthy and must be the concern of nations in the world, that the treatment of a religion and its adherents should not be treated badly in any form or way.
The problem of Pancasila itself, said Wati Salam, is not only starting to be forgotten by many people, let alone being practiced in real behavior and actions in everyday life. Because what is more concerning is that the understanding of history and its relationship to the Jakarta Charter is not widely understood by many people. Moreover, considering the historical value of Pancasila, it is only for the millennial generation or the “Gen-Z” generation who are increasingly intoxicated by the gadget culture carried by modern technology to display it.
Amir Hamzah also expressed his concern about the Danantara personnel who are predominantly filled by corruptors from the SBY and Joko Widodo eras. Meanwhile, Major General Syumsu Djalal SH. MH who also appeared as a resource person could only recommend being more patient and steadfast in facing the increasingly uncertain turmoil in Indonesia, so that they must be more steadfast and remain resigned to facing various possibilities that could occur beyond common sense or predictions that can be made from various points of view or analysts.
Present were members and sympathizers of Aspirasi from various sectors and regions, such as Bunda Siswati from Tangerang, Bunda Nuning and Jatiningsih from Depok, Etna and Tina, Wulan, Bunda Purwa and other mothers along with supporters and sympathizers, such as Andi Boxer, Rachmadi and Jafar and others who filled the Aspirasi discussion room from morning until before the Maghrib prayer.***
