The Meaning of Aidul Qurban Eliminates Animal Attitudes and Characteristics from Human Glory

Starting from the history of the genealogy of Prophet Ibrahim Alaihisalam, who married Sarah and had a son, Prophet Isaac. Meanwhile, the marriage of Prophet Ibrahim and Hajar gave birth to Prophet Ismail, who was the ancestor of the Arab people who became the genealogy of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. From these two lineages of the Prophet Abraham AS, the history of the religions of Islam, Judaism and Christianity began.
Prophet Ibrahim came from the city of Ur, Mesopotamia (Iraq). He migrated according to God’s orders to Canaan (Palestine and Israel), in the 20th century BC to 18 BC. Meanwhile, the Prophet Muhammad SAW lived between 570 AD and 632 AD. That is, around 28 to 30 centuries apart.
Prophet Ismail, who was the ancestor of the Prophet Muhammad, was the older brother of the Prophet Isaac who was the forerunner of the Palestinian and Israeli nations. Although in history, Prophet Ibrahim was first married to Sarah who gave Prophet Ibrahim a maid named Hajar, as the mother of Prophet Ismail who became the older brother of Prophet Isaac from the same father but different mothers.
Sarah herself came from the land of Canaan – which is now called Palestine and Israel – and her son from Isaac’s descendants is now the ancestor of the Palestinian and Israeli nations. While Hajar came from Egypt.
Initially, the Kaaba was not a mosque as it is seen now, but only a sacred building or house of worship that was first built to worship God. So, the Kaaba can be known to have existed since the time of Prophet Ibrahim in 1800 BC. Because the Kaaba was built during the life of Prophet Ibrahim AS with his son Prophet Ismail by Allah’s command to be a house of worship, namely Baitullah which is one direction (qibla) to worship Allah from any side.
Since the time of Prophet Muhammad, it has been confirmed as the center of worship for Muslims by building the Grand Mosque – the oldest and largest mosque that surrounds the Kaaba as a place of prayer and performing the Hajj pilgrimage until now. This means that, at least since the time of the Prophet Muhammad’s life, the Hajj and all the series of religious rituals that continue to this day have been maintained and consistently adhered to by Muslims throughout the world.
From the Prophet Jacob — Israel — the direct descendants of the Prophet Isaac had 12 children. Of these 12 brothers, the Children of Israel. Prophet Isaac had a son named Prophet Jacob who descended from Prophet Yusuf. Then the tribe of Judah gave birth to the Prophet David, then the Prophet Solomon. From the Children of Israel emerged Prophet Musa AS, Prophet Harun, Ilyas, Ilyasa, Zakaria, Yahya and Prophet Isa who became the last Prophet from among the Children of Israel.
That is the historical story about the Kaaba which is located in the Grand Mosque, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is the holiest place in the Muslim faith. In fact, from the story of Isra and Mi’raj, the location of the Grand Mosque is the closest distance to the seventh heaven, so it became the choice of place for the Prophet Muhammad to perform the Mi’raj. And the Kaaba is the center where Muslims face the Qibla when performing prayers. As a central place to perform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. Until now, it has become a symbol of the unity of Muslims in the world who believe in the afterlife. This means that the Kaaba is a symbol of the spiritual center as well as an identity for Muslims from all over the world.
Mecca, which is located in a valley, is a very strategic place to be a fortress of defense in both physical and spiritual terms. Mecca is at the crossroads of trade routes, so it is truly strategic in the geopolitical, geoeconomic, geocultural and georeligious sense. So that it allows Islam to develop in various directions and fields as well as science and culture without causing anxiety and worry for humanity in the world.
Because the meaning of Aidul Qurban itself means an effort and effort to eliminate the attitudes and characteristics of animals that are greedy and greedy, without caring about others. Including fellow humans, the universe and the Creator. So, in a sacred ceremony full of spiritual value in the slaughter of sacrificial animals, it is a symbol of eradicating animal attitudes and characteristics from the noble attitudes and characteristics of humans as khalifatullah – God’s representatives – on earth.
