KUNINGAN-JAYA-NEWS.COM – The Balongan Journalists Community (KJB) successfully held its 3rd Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) at the Ipukan Campsite in Kuningan, West Java, from October 23–24, 2026.
Centered on the theme “With KJB, Building a Professional, Collaborative, and Trusted Press Ecosystem in the Digital Era,” the event generated new ideas and innovations to strengthen the organization’s work programs.
Set against the backdrop of the foothills of Mount Ciremai, the event embraced an outdoor, camping-based concept. The cool mountain air, a sense of togetherness, and an evening campfire helped foster a strong bond among the participants.
The gathering was attended by KJB’s leadership, members, and partners. Also present were representatives from the Balongan sub-district leadership forum (Forkopimcam), the head of the Indramayu Regency branch of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI), the head of the Indramayu chapter of the Online Journalists Association (IWO), the head of the Balongan sub-district branch of the Association of Village Heads (AKSI), representatives from PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (Balongan Refinery), and other invited guests.
KJB Chairman, Nurpad, stated that the Rakerda serves as a vital agenda for evaluating existing programs and mapping out future initiatives.
He noted that while the first Rakerda was held in Karangampel and the second at Cemara Indah Beach in Balongan, this third edition took place amidst the natural surroundings of Ipukan, Kuningan.
“Thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to the success of this 3rd KJB Regional Working Meeting. I hope KJB continues to thrive and provide meaningful benefits to the community—particularly within the Balongan sub-district and the wider Indramayu Regency,” said Nurpad. KJB Secretary Winanto emphasized that journalists bear a significant responsibility to provide accurate, balanced, and accountable information.
“The role of a journalist is to deliver professional reporting and to produce work that conveys information to the broader public, thereby contributing to regional progress,” said Winanto.
He added that the primary challenge for journalists in the digital age is the prevalence of hoaxes.
“A journalist’s main enemy is the hoax. Before the public accepts information at face value, journalists must step in to verify and validate it. We must ensure that the public does not fall victim to false news,” he asserted.
Beni Setiawan, the organizing committee chair for the 3rd KJB Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda), expressed his gratitude that the entire series of events proceeded smoothly, serving as an opportunity to strengthen the organization’s solidarity.
