From the basement of the Ali bin Abi Thalib Building, a patriotic harmony began to resonate. The voices of tutors and learners from PKBM Al-Zaytun blended into a unified rhythm, creating an atmosphere filled with spirit, solidarity, and love for the homeland. Clad in black uniforms paired with ties and *peci* caps, they stood confidently, ready to showcase their best performance in the choir competition—part of the festivities marking the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence.
The participation of PKBM Al-Zaytun tutors and learners added a unique and engaging dimension to the event. They were not merely participants; they demonstrated that non-formal education possesses the spirit, creativity, and deep commitment needed to enliven the nation’s independence celebrations.
Seven teams participated in the choir competition, representing various segments of the Al-Zaytun community, including students (*santri*), teachers, university students, parents, staff, as well as PKBM tutors and learners. This diversity of participants made the competition even more vibrant, underscoring that the 81st Independence Day celebration was a shared event for the entire extended Al-Zaytun family.
The song performed during the competition was the “Hymn of Politeknik Tanah AIR,” composed by Syaykh Al-Zaytun. The choice of this song held special significance. Through the choral performance, the hymn was introduced to a wider audience and deeply felt as an expression of the commitment to building education, advancing knowledge and skills, and preparing a generation ready to serve the nation and the state.
Before advancing to the final round, all participants were required to undergo an audition stage held in the basement of the Ali bin Abi Thalib Building. Each team strove to showcase its best abilities, focusing on everything from pitch accuracy, vocal cohesion, and emotional expression to stage presence. Teams that pass the selection round will advance to the finals, scheduled to take place at the Ali bin Abi Thalib Building at Jeteso.
Amidst the competition, a strong sense of camaraderie prevailed. Participants supported one another and watched each other’s performances with great enthusiasm. The event served not only as a venue to determine the best team but also as a gathering place that strengthened bonds among the various members of the Al-Zaytun community.
For the tutors and learners of PKBM Al-Zaytun, participating in the competition was a valuable experience. They learned to cultivate discipline, courage, teamwork, and self-confidence. Every note sung was the result of dedicated practice and a determination to deliver their best performance for Indonesia.
The commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia’s 81st anniversary was ultimately celebrated through more than just ceremonies and festive competitions; independence also manifested as a harmony that united diverse backgrounds on a shared stage of togetherness. Through the *Politeknik Tanah AIR* Hymn, the tutors and learners of PKBM Al-Zaytun conveyed the message that independence must be upheld through education, hard work, tangible achievements, and service to the nation.**
