Tibet, China, and Nepal have been battered by unexpected disasters; the collapse of glaciers in the Nepalese highlands on August 26, 2026—followed by a similar event on August 31, 2026—serves as a stark reminder of the Earth’s struggle against extreme heat. Indeed, extreme weather is currently sweeping across the globe.
Water, wind, and fire—forces beyond human control—seem to be demonstrating God’s sovereignty over the universe and all within it, reminding us that human arrogance has no place before the Almighty.
It is as if Nepal is being cleansed by massive ice blocks tumbling down from the Himalayas—nature’s way of cooling a feverish Earth. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the “fire” of heat seems to smolder, scorching the remaining forests—now reduced to peatlands and the debris of greedy, illegal logging. This serves as a reminder that such disasters are the price paid for human arrogance and greed; they are the wrath of a nature neglected and abused—a consequence of humanity ignoring God’s sovereignty.
Are these signs that the world is aging and its vitality waning, much like the finite lifespan of a human being? This is but one of the millions of divine mysteries that lie beyond the reach of human reason—intellect and spirituality rendered futile because they lack the grounding of humility and simplicity. For the world is far too adept at stoking human desires beyond all reasonable limits.
Wind—a gift from God—is only truly appreciated when global temperatures surge uncontrollably. The Earth, along with buildings and trees, collapses helplessly; yet, we fail to recognize this as a warning against the arrogance of a humanity driven by greed to dominate everything—seeking to display a might they imagine rivals the power held in God’s own grasp. Fire, wind, and water—as parts of God’s bounty—are rarely acknowledged with gratitude or voiced in prayer until they transform into unforeseen disasters. This stems from an inability to read, hear, or perceive the language of the earth—a language articulated through the “verses” found in the human body, the land itself, and all the gifts God bestowed upon the world to sustain humanity in its role as *khalifatullah* (God’s vicegerent). These earthly signs remain unread, unheard, and unseen as cosmic verses meant to guide humanity to bow in reverent awe—accepting these gifts with gratitude and tending to them with the same care one accords one’s own body. They are, in truth, divine signs possessing the power to avert any manner of disaster—signs that must never, for even a fleeting moment, be ignored.**
