New Rector of the Sabilillah Islamic Institute, Lamongan
Lamongan, Jayanews.com – Beginning his career as a contract-based religious extension officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Lamongan, East Java (serving from 2000 to 2009) before eventually being appointed as a Civil Servant (ASN), Drs. Abdul Jamil has gathered a wealth of positive impressions and experiences, all underpinned by great patience. He consistently prioritizes high dedication and loyal service in his work.
“My principle is that work is an act of worship to Allah SWT. We must be earnest wherever we are assigned and stationed—*Man Jadda Wa Jadda* (whoever strives earnestly shall succeed). We should be grateful, work sincerely with honesty, and uphold professionalism; in doing so, we will attain blessings,” stated Drs. Abdul Jamil, M.Ag., to the press on Friday evening, August 7, 2026.
He retired in 2024 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Lamongan, East Java, holding the final rank of 3d. He is recognized as one of the high-achieving civil servants in the region, known for his excellent service to the community and the religious public.
Throughout his career, he has consistently prioritized professionalism and procedural excellence in service delivery. In early July 2026, he was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Rector of the Sabilillah Islamic Institute in Lamongan, East Java, overseeing a team of 46 lecturers and 10 administrative staff members.
The campus is managed by the Foundation Chairman, H. Ongky Wijaya, ST—a native of Lamongan whose father was known for building mosques in various regions.
The Sabilillah Islamic Institute also offers new undergraduate (S1) programs comprising five study majors. Congratulations and best wishes to the new Rector, Drs. Abdul Jamil, M.Ag. May this campus produce the nation’s future intellectuals and brilliant leaders who embody noble character.
