Bekasi District Prosecutor’s Office Names Three Former Officials of Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi as Corruption Suspects
Bekasi Regency-Jayanews.com – The Bekasi District Prosecutor’s Office has named three former officials of the Regional Water Utility Company Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi as suspects in an alleged corruption case related to new water connection services. The designation was made on Wednesday, July 30, 2026.
The suspects, identified by the initials MSB, RF, and AEZ, are alleged to have caused state financial losses amounting to *IDR 4,506,920,372* [approximately USD 275,000].
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects are accused of manipulating fees for new water connections for 21 prospective customers by charging rates that deviated from the official tariff. Funds collected from applicants were allegedly not remitted to the company’s treasury but were instead deposited into a separate account and reportedly used for personal purposes.

Commenting on the development, H. Ulung Purnama, S.H., M.H., a legal practitioner and Chairman of the Bekasi Regency Advocates Forum (FAKB), stated that the Prosecutor’s Office’s action reflects both law enforcement and efforts to strengthen administrative governance at Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi
“Any action taken outside established procedures constitutes a legal violation. Managerial discretion cannot be used as a defense if it was not carried out in coordination with the board of directors. Legal responsibility therefore remains with the individual who made the decision,” said Mr. Purnama on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
He added that the case should serve as a lesson to improve corporate governance at _Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi_. “At a time when public demand for clean water services continues to rise, no individual should exploit the situation for personal gain,” he said.
Mr. Purnama also commended the Bekasi District Prosecutor’s Office for its investigation and expressed hope that Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi will enhance its governance and continue to deliver optimal clean water services to the residents of Bekasi Regency.**
