Students from Sint Yoseph Elementary School Kabanjahe Medan Win Honorable Mention at National Robotics Competition
Kabanjahe, Medan – JAYANEWS.COM – Students from Sint Yoseph Elementary School, Kabanjahe, won honorable mentions in the Greenmech Jr. Programmer and Robot for Mission (R4M) Basic categories at the 2026 National Greenmech Competition, held on April 25-26, 2026, at Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung.
The Setia Medan Foundation Robotics Team, represented by students from Sint Yoseph Elementary School, Kabanjahe, participated in several categories: Greenmech Jr. Science, Greenmech Jr. Programmer, Greenmech, and Robot for Mission (R4M). They demonstrated their abilities in designing, programming, and operating robots according to the challenges presented.
The National Greenmech Competition is known as a national-level robotics competition that brings together students from various regions in Indonesia. This competition not only served as a platform to showcase their abilities, but also as a platform to foster a spirit of collaboration, problem-solving skills, and an awareness of environmentally friendly technology.

The supervising teacher, Agustinus Sembiring, expressed his pride in the students’ achievements. “We are very proud of the children’s hard work and enthusiasm. They have shown extraordinary dedication, from the training process to their performance in the competition. This is not just about winning, but about the learning process and the courage to try,” he said.
Hosea Julio Sitepu, a fourth-grade student at Sint Yoseph Kabanjahe Elementary School, expressed his delight at participating in the national competition. “I’m so happy to be able to participate in this competition, Uncle. Although I was a little nervous, I learned a lot about robotics and teamwork. I hope I can participate again in the future and achieve even better results,” he said.
