The enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated the strong interest of the younger generation in this traditional Japanese martial art, especially the Gojukai path, which emphasizes discipline, mental toughness, and movement coordination.

The Role and Achievement of Hartono, S.Pd.

His work in the Alumni Association has successfully mobilized PKBM alumni to contribute to the development of PKBM Al-Zaytun. The solidarity of PKBM alumni in driving PKBM, which earned him an award from the Regent of Indramayu, is inseparable from his pioneering role.

Care in the World of Karate
In the world of Karate, he has a wealth of experience in coaching and competitions. He was entrusted to serve as a member of the West Java Provincial Teachers’ Council. As a member of the teaching council, he plays a role in determining the direction of coaching, training curriculum, and technical standards for Gojukai Karate-Do in West Java. His experience in education helps provide a systematic approach to assessing exam participants.
Furthermore, he is actively involved in the Gojukai Karate-Do Level Up Exam. In this Gashuku and Level Promotion Exam, participants underwent a series of technical assessments, from kihon (basic movements), kata (forms), to kumite (fighting). As the Examining Board, Hartono ensured that each karateka executed the techniques correctly, with discipline, and demonstrated the development necessary for promotion.
His involvement was not merely a formality, but also a tangible contribution to developing a young generation with strong, disciplined, and resilient character. This kind of activity aligns with the character education values also developed in the Community Service Center (PKBM).
Hartono, S.Pd.’s presence at the West Java Province Karate-Do Gojukai activity is clear evidence that education and character development go hand in hand. His dedication as an educator, PKBM activist, academic, and devotee to the world of karate makes him an inspiration to many.
Through his work, it is clear that education does not only take place in the classroom, but also thrives through cultural, sports, and community activities that shape the character of future generations.**
