ROKAN HULU-JAYA NEWS.COM— PT RSM launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by releasing 8,000 freshwater fish fingerlings in the Sungai Dua River, in the Serombo and Sungai Dua Indah Villages, Sungai Mondung Hamlet, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. This program serves as a step towards restoring the river’s ecosystem while strengthening social ties between the company and the community.

The fish released included lomak, baung, patin, and other local fish fingerlings, which are part of the biodiversity of the Rokan Hulu waters. As part of the CSR program, PT RSM also donated a wedding tent, equipment for community social activities, and 2 cubic meters of wood for the construction of village facilities.

The activity involved village government officials and the community. Toni Alexander, Public Relations Officer of PT RSM, led the CSR activity. Several residents and village officials were present, including Hora N. Manurung, Lepl Ovi Ce, Sonni Fedri, Syahl…, Ujang Betung, and Nurcholes, the Hamlet Head of Sungai Dua Village.

Also in attendance were the neighborhood unit (RT), community leaders, the Village Consultative Body (BPD), and representatives from the Environment Agency and the Fisheries Agency, who offered their support. Also present was the Riau Malay Penggawa, Alirman.

The Fisheries Agency assessed PT RSM’s CSR program as being well-targeted. “Fish restocking is an important step to rebalance declining fish populations. This is a strategic step,” said the agency official.

Residents welcomed the CSR program. Ujang Betung said this activity brings hope to residents who depend on the river for their livelihood. Nurcholes and Sonni Fedri assessed that the social facility assistance from PT RSM alleviated the community’s needs for various public activities.

This CSR program demonstrates that PT RSM prioritizes environmental and social aspects as part of the company’s long-term responsibilities.**
