Brave Children’s Literacy, Embodying the Heroic Spirit at Indramayu Elementary School
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – In the spirit of commemorating National Heroes’ Day, the Integrated Elementary School (SRT) 40 Indramayu, along with Relima Indramayu and the Inclusion Program, held an activity titled “Brave Children’s Literacy” on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This activity was also part of the Indramayu Regency Children’s Forum Routine Meeting, and was enthusiastically attended by elementary and junior high school students.
With a variety of engaging agendas, including student literacy outreach, interactive dialogues, educational games, and reflections on National Heroes’ Day, this activity aimed to foster a spirit of learning, critical thinking, and emulate the values of the heroes’ struggles today.
Ma’rifatun Ilmiah, S.S., the Foster Parent of the Elementary School, expressed her pride in playing a role in building children’s literacy awareness at this historic moment. “I am delighted to be involved in this activity. Literacy is not just about reading, but also instilling values of struggle and strong character in students from an early age,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mardiani, S.Pd., Principal of the Indramayu Elementary School, emphasized the importance of synergy between the school, Relima, and the Children’s Forum as an effort to develop students’ potential. “This activity is part of developing students’ interests and talents so they can find and understand information and knowledge that is beneficial to their lives,” said Mardiani.
On the same occasion, Supriyatin, S.T., Indramayu Regency Inclusion Coordinator, emphasized that literacy activities are also a gateway to child marriage prevention efforts. “Preventing child marriage must begin at school age. They need to be equipped with knowledge about the meaning of life so they can develop self-awareness and plan for a better future,” she explained.
Ahmad Khoeri, M.Pd., from Relima Indramayu, also emphasized the importance of consistent literacy in the digital age. “Reading and understanding information must be done consistently. From this habit, collective literacy awareness can grow and become a strength in building the nation,” he said.
This Brave Children’s Literacy activity symbolizes a new spirit for Indramayu Elementary School students to be brave, empowered, and ready to face the challenges of the times, equipped with knowledge and heroic values relevant to today’s life.
