Sub-district Head Encep Deemed Slow in Handling Public Complaints in the Losarang Area, Indramayu

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Losarang Journalists Forum (FJL) deplores the slow response of the Sub-district Head of Losarang, Indramayu Regency, Encep Ria Setiadi, SE. MSi., in responding to the dynamics of information and public complaints.

According to the FJL Chair, the Sub-district Head’s slowness is evident in his response to all information provided by the media, which appears slow to respond, even silent.

“When we provide information about current events in the community, Sub-district Head Encep rarely responds, sometimes appearing silent,” said Apip Nopianto, Chair of the FJL and a journalist for Media HU Kabar Cirebon, Sunday (January 4, 2026).

“Different sub-district heads have different attitudes, I understand. But if he’s a communicative person, Encep should be able to provide communication space for us in the media to interact. We, the media, acknowledge the need for information communication, but if officials are slow to respond, let alone silent, I think this will make it difficult for the public to obtain the information they need,” he added.

Apip also stated that the Losarang Sub-district Head’s reluctance to provide confirmation and responses to media members of the FJL (Family Journalists Association) is suspected to be due to prestige and sectoral egos.

“I suspect it’s due to prestige. It’s a shame if public officials have egos like this. This will be detrimental to the public’s access to information,” he said.

“My hope is that, as fellow workers in the Losarang Sub-district, we, the FJL, can be given equal space for interaction and communication. We convey that we are ready to work together to develop the Losarang region,” said the member of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Indramayu Regency.

The Public Information Disclosure Law serves as a bulwark for the public in accessing information and knowledge. And the Press Freedom Law is a pioneer in the public’s struggle to obtain that information.

FJL believes that the media, as the fourth pillar of democracy, holds great promise for a democratic partnership. We, the media, hope to be treated with equal respect, to work together in synergy, to advance regional development, and to mutually support the dissemination of information and knowledge to the public.
