AN Ready to Provide Clarification to the Indramayu Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Affirms Respect for Legal Process
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – A member of the Indramayu Regency DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council), AN (29), stated her readiness to provide clarification to the DPRD’s Ethics Council (BK) following a complaint filed by IR, her own husband, for legal counsel. The complaint alleges a violation of the oath and code of ethics for DPRD members, including allegations of adultery.
Contacted separately, AN emphasized that she respects all ongoing legal processes, both within the DPRD and with the police. However, she also emphasized the importance of upholding the presumption of innocence in addressing issues still under investigation.
“I am ready to provide clarification and explain the actual facts if the BK requests confirmation from me,” AN stated when asked for information on Tuesday (10/14/2025).
AN believes the accusations against her are more emotional and biased, without any solid legal evidence.
“I was accused of something after I had just finished a meeting with a notary. It happened in a restaurant parking lot. We had finished the meeting and had eaten, then were about to return to the airport. In fact, my hotel and my colleague’s were located at different locations, about 3 kilometers apart,” explained AN.
He considered the accusation baseless and tended towards one-sided judgment, using the pretext of “sexual illicit sex.” He argued that the rights and obligations of husband and wife, as stipulated in Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, were not even considered by the complainant.
AN also hoped that the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Advisory Council (BK) would be wise in assessing each complaint received, especially those concerning private matters and still undergoing legal proceedings outside parliament.
“I respect the BK’s role, but it is important not to mix private matters with legislative duties, especially when there has not yet been a valid legal decision. Let us respect this process proportionally,” he stressed.
Previously, IR’s attorney, Dr. Khalimi, had submitted an official complaint to the Speaker of the Indramayu DPRD and the DPRD BK. In the complaint, the party requested that AN be processed ethically and urged his resignation from his legislative position. IR is also known to have reported AN to the Aceh Regional Police on suspicion of adultery.
In response to calls for his resignation, AN stated that he would remain focused on proving the law and fully submit to the applicable mechanisms.
“If I am proven guilty through a legitimate legal process, I will take responsibility. However, I ask all parties to respect my right to defend myself and not to undermine someone’s dignity based solely on allegations,” AN concluded.**
