The presence of this Indomaret is a source of pride for the community, as it was born from the initiative of a local man who cares about the economic development of his village. The solemn inauguration ceremony, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a prayer, was witnessed by the Bonai Darussalam Sub-district Head, the Bonai Darussalam Police Chief, community leaders, youth leaders, and hundreds of residents.
The event, which included more than just an inauguration, also included a thanksgiving service and the distribution of 600 sacks of rice and cooking oil. Since midday, residents had been lining up in an orderly fashion, waiting their turn. The distribution of basic necessities was filled with emotion and joy. Smiles spread across the recipients’ faces, and expressions of gratitude echoed throughout the event.
“Thank God, this has been a huge help to us. We are proud that our village has a leader who cares about and develops its people,” said one resident, filled with emotion.

“This store is a source of pride for us all. From the village, for the village. I want this Indomaret to truly bring convenience, benefits, and a spirit of togetherness to all residents,” he said.
Now, the Sontang Village Indomaret is living proof that village development can be done by hand, with a spirit of mutual cooperation and social awareness. It’s not just a modern shop, but a symbol of local pride, a demonstration that a village can thrive thanks to the work of its own children.**
