Examining Javanese Language Errors on the Javanese TikTok Account Hi.kaaal, Yogi Tabah Produces a Book Chapter
The development of social media platforms like TikTok has created new spaces for cultural expression and linguistic communication. Yogi Tabah, a student in the Javanese Language and Literature Education Study Program, examined Javanese language errors on the TikTok account Hi.kaaal.
This study aimed to identify and analyze Javanese language errors at the phonological and morphological levels. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach.
The analysis was conducted on 17 Javanese videos uploaded between 2022 and 2025. The research results revealed phonological errors, such as:
– *Spelling*: 4 spelling errors
– *Phoneme Omission*: 3 phoneme omission errors
– *Phoneme Addition*: 3 phoneme addition errors
Morphological errors include:
– *Affixation*: 9 affixation errors
– *Composition*: 1 composition error
– *Reduplication*: 2 reduplication errors
– *Shortening*: 3 shortening errors
This research concluded that this type of error was the most common in videos in 2022. Language errors tended to decrease in subsequent years.
“The contribution of this research lies in the combination of phonological and morphological error analysis,” said Sungging Widagdo, the supervising lecturer, and Nur Fateah, the examining lecturer. Detailed research results can be accessed in the book chapter at https://proceedings.unnes.ac.id/index.php/bsb/article/view/404
Thus, this research can contribute to the understanding of Javanese language and culture, as well as enrich linguistic studies.
