Subhan’s Civil Lawsuit Against the Vice President’s Legality in the First Trial, Will Be Held on September 8, 2025, at the Central Jakarta District Court

JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Rp 125 trillion lawsuit against Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has attracted widespread attention—even internationally—not because of its fantastic material value, but because of its non-material—spiritual—value, touching on issues of ethics, morals, and the noble character of a state official who must uphold applicable laws and regulations and deserve respect from all citizens and members of the nation, without exception. Furthermore, all citizens and citizens of Indonesia need to understand the legal process that will be implemented, and whether it can still be trusted that every Indonesian citizen has equal legal standing to obtain justice.

Subhan, a resident of West Jakarta, filed a lawsuit with the Central Jakarta District Court against the Vice President and the General Elections Commission (KPU), deeming his candidacy for Vice President in the 2024 Presidential Election invalid and failing to meet formal education requirements in Indonesia.

The requirement of a high school diploma (SMA or equivalent) in Indonesian jurisdiction was not met. Subhan’s lawsuit has been registered under case number 583/Pdt.G/2025/PN.Jkt. Pst. In his petition, Subhan requests that the court declare the candidacy and appointment of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President for the 2024-2029 period invalid. Furthermore, Subhan demands material damages of Rp 125 trillion, to be immediately deposited into the state treasury.

Subhan’s lawsuit cannot be viewed solely in terms of material value. It can also be understood within a spiritual context encompassing the ethics, morals, and noble character of a leader or public official, who should be a role model in a comprehensive sense, without flaw or reprehensible.

Although Subhan’s demands may not be fully granted, efforts to uphold ethical, moral, and noble human character—especially for public officials who deserve to be role models for the people—are necessary to restore the dignity of state officials in Indonesia.

According to information obtained, the first hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court will be held on September 8, 2025. The trial will undoubtedly be closely watched and attract public attention, especially from citizens who desire law enforcement and a sense of justice for all citizens without exception, including high-ranking officials in this country.

Furthermore, the public is eager to witness the government led by President Prabowo Subianto’s continued efforts to purge the government of elements seeking to exploit and burden the reform and improvement programs implemented through the Red and White Cabinet. It is hoped that the Cabinet will perform optimally and be free from the burdens of the past administration, which caused damage and left heavy burdens, such as the exploitation of natural resources, forests, land, and various mining products to enrich itself, its family, and its entourage.

The lawsuit against the Vice President, deemed illegitimate due to failure to meet the requirements of this country, has captured public attention, especially when the first trial is held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Central Jakarta District Court. Although the logical consequences of this civil trial will distract the public from the quite tense events of August 25-28, 2025, which marked the culmination of a series of public outcries over the multiple tax increases, as protested by the residents of Pati Regency, Central Java, which have led to calls for the Regent to resign or be removed by the people.
