Opening Ceremony of the 7th INCOLWIS Conference at Surabaya State University at the Santika Gubeng Hotel
SURABAYA-JAYA NEWS.COM – The opening ceremony of the 7th INCOLWIS Conference was held on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, at the Santika Gubeng Hotel in Surabaya. The conference will run from August 12-14, 2025.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Fadli Zon (represented), the Governor of East Java, Dr. (HC) Khofifah, and Indar Parawansa, represented by the Head of the Culture and Tourism Office of East Java Province, Evy Afianasari, S.T., M.M.A., Chair of the Advisory Board of Ikadbudi: Prof. Dr. Sutrisna Wibawa, Ikadbudi and Adisabda Management, and the Chair of the Academic Senate of the University, Prof. Dr. Setya Yuwana and the UNESA Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Haris Supratno, were also present. UNESA Rector: Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, Vice Rector: Dr. Bambang Sigit Widodo, and the Dean and Vice Deans of UNESA.
Also in attendance were the Chair of the INCOLWIS Conference: Dr. Octo Dendy Andriyanto, along with the Keynote Speakers: Mr. Samsie Dipokromo, Prof. Korakoch Attaviriyanupap, and Dr. Mohamad Suhaizi bin Suhaimi.
Also in attendance were invited guests, as well as national and international participants.
“Tonight’s conference is part of a series of events commemorating Unesa’s 61st anniversary. It is being held by the Javanese Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Surabaya State University, and is supported by the Indonesian Association of Regional Culture Lecturers (IKADBUDI),” said the Conference Committee Chair, Dr. Octo Dendy Andriyanto, to JayaNews.com on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Dr. Octo explained that this International Conference is being held as a space for dialogue and collaboration between scientists, practitioners, and stakeholders from various countries, to review the strategic role of local wisdom amidst cutting-edge technological developments.
“We also invited speakers from abroad, including from Suriname, Thailand, and Malaysia,” added Dr. Octo.**
