Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 13th Anniversary of the IWO Indramayu, Holds Thanksgiving Event at New Secretariat

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – To celebrate the 13th anniversary of the IWO, which falls on August 8, 2025, and to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence, the IWO Regional Board of Indramayu Regency held a thanksgiving event at its new secretariat located on Jalan Setana, RT 02, RW 01, Bojongsari Village, Indramayu, on Monday (August 11, 2025).

The event was attended by the entire IWO Board of Indramayu Regency, the Indonesian Cyber Media Union (SMSI), and the local community.

The event began with a tahlilan (religious prayer) at the new secretariat, followed by the singing of Indonesia Raya as a tribute to the heroes, the IWO march, and concluded with the cutting of a tumpeng (rice cone) as a symbol of gratitude and togetherness.

In his remarks, Ali Ma’nawi (Almak), Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (IWO) for Indramayu Regency, expressed his gratitude and pride for the establishment of the new secretariat.

“This new secretariat is not just a gathering place, but a center for ideas, creativity, and the struggles of online journalists in Indramayu. The momentum of the Indonesian Independence Day and the IWO anniversary should spur our enthusiasm to continue making positive contributions to society, upholding the organization’s dignity, and remaining solid in every step,” said Almak.

Ihsan Mahfudz, Chairman of the Indramayu Regency SMSI, emphasized the importance of the media’s role in maintaining information stability amidst the increasingly rapid flow of digital news.

“The media has a significant responsibility to maintain conduciveness and professionalism. The collaboration between IWO and SMSI is expected to deliver balanced, accurate, and beneficial news for the community,” said Ihsan.

Sulaiman, a local resident, expressed his appreciation for the event.

“We, as residents, are pleased and grateful that IWO is willing to collaborate with the community. We hope the presence of this secretariat will be beneficial for both the press and local residents,” he said.

This thanksgiving event symbolizes the unity between press organizations, the media community, and the Indramayu community.**
