Zulfahrianto, Champion of Riau Village Voices, Meets with the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia

JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM — Amidst the grandeur of the Indonesian Vice Presidential Palace, the steps of Zulfahrianto, Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (APDESI) of Riau Province, were filled with meaning.

On Friday, August 8, 2025, carrying the mandate of thousands of village heads and millions of villagers across Riau Province, Zulfahrianto stood tall before the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to convey the aspirations that have long been the lifeblood of life in remote areas of Riau.

This historic meeting took place as part of an audience between APDESI and all Regional Representative Council (DPD) Chairs across Indonesia, which was held in conjunction with the 2025 APDESI National Working Meeting (Rakernas). However, for Zulfahrianto, this moment was more than just a formality—it was a stage for the struggle to bring the voices of the villages to the ears and hearts of the nation’s leaders.

In a firm yet empathetic tone, Zulfahrianto conveyed that villages in Riau need concrete steps to achieve equitable development, from infrastructure and increasing the capacity of village officials to strengthening the economy based on local potential. This is all in line with Asta Cita 6: “Development from Villages for Economic Equality,” a commitment of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“I come not to represent my own name, but to bring the voices of all villages in Riau. This aspiration is a hope born from the hard work, sweat, and struggle of village communities. We want the central government to see villages as the true foundation of Indonesia,” Zulfahrianto emphasized.

His actions in Jakarta today are proof that village leadership does not stop at administrative boundaries. For Zulfahrianto, fighting for villages means fighting for the future of the nation. And for the villagers of Riau, he is now not merely the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (APDESI) — but a bridge between the hopes of the people at the grassroots level and policies at the central level.**
