First in Central Java, Running Competition Inside the Mall
TEGAL-JAYA NEWS.COM – Running is usually done on ordinary roads or currently there are also many trail runs that are done on dirt roads or outside the usual paths, but there is also a unique run done inside a Mall. Run In The Mall was held at Pacific Mall Tegal, Sunday (5/18/2025).
Starting in the Mall yard, through the Parking Area and car lane up to the 4th floor and entering the Mall, up and down the stairs with a 3 Kilometer Route and Finishing at the Pacific Atrium Hall Floor 1.
The Chairperson of the Run In The Mall Committee, Fitria Yuni Susilawati, said that her party held Run In The Mall because this run was different from the others.
“Running on the road is commonplace, running on the field is commonplace, running in this Mall is really extraordinary and this is the first time in Central Java that Tegal City has held it,” said Fitria.
Fitria said, for the route that was passed in addition to a total distance of 3 kilometers, the runners also ran with an elevation of approximately 40 meters, from the ground floor to the 4th floor.
The committee deliberately limited the number of participants to 300 participants. According to Fitria, this was due to the capacity of the Mall and to maintain the comfort of the runners. The committee also divided the runners’ start into two waves, so that the runners did not pile up too much, and were safe and comfortable until the finish.
The Deputy Mayor of Tegal, Tazkiyyatul Muthmainnah, who released and also participated in the run, said that Run In The Mall was something extraordinary and new for us.
“Usually running is on the street, on the sports field, now we are running in the mall. According to her, this is very good for improving a healthy lifestyle, because Lifestyle and exercise habits need to be instilled in the community,” she said.
The Deputy Mayor of Tegal, who is familiarly called Mbak Iin, appreciated and thanked the event for being held, and hoped that this activity would not only be carried out at this time, but would be carried out routinely.
His party will always support activities like this so that our community is always healthy and active.
