Create Safe and Comfortable, Tomas Indramayu Reminds the Anti-Thug Task Force to Take Action Immediately
INDRAMAYU-JAYANEWS.COM- The potential for thuggery in Indramayu Regency is quite high, Indramayu community leader, H. Suwarjo, firmly voiced his concerns and hoped that the Indramayu regional government together with Law Enforcement Officers (APH) would not hesitate and be selective in eradicating thuggery.
This was stated during a press conference held at the Panorama Restaurant, Indramayu, Tuesday (13/5/2025).
He also appreciated the steps taken by the Indramayu regional government through the formation of the Anti-Thug Task Force (Satgas) which he said was very important in order to maintain security stability and the investment climate in the region.
“Thuggery should not be considered trivial. If left unchecked, it could create a bad precedent for the security and comfort of the community. Investors will also think twice about entering Indramayu,” said H. Suwarjo.
He added that arbitrary actions that violate the law and social norms must be eradicated completely. He also encouraged law enforcement officers to conduct direct socialization to various business sectors including BUMN, BUMD, and BUMS, and ensure a quick response within 24 hours to public reports.
Support also came from youth figures, Abdul Kholik, who considered that thuggery had caused serious unrest in the community.
“Intimidative actions that are not based on law clearly hurt the sense of justice of the residents. Thuggery like this should not be given the slightest space,” he said.
In response to this demand, the Deputy Regent of Indramayu, H. Syaefudin, expressed the commitment of the regional government through the vision of Indramayu Reang, namely safe and comfortable, in creating a conducive environment. He emphasized that the existence of the Anti-Thuggery Task Force is not only symbolic, but must work to eradicate thuggery practices in the field.
“Eradicating thuggery is a concrete step to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere. The government fully supports every effort that guarantees public safety and the smooth running of the regional economy,” he said.
With collaboration between community leaders, youth, local government, and law enforcement officers, Indramayu Regency is optimistic about the future as a region free from thuggery, investment-friendly, and full of legal certainty.
