Polindra Students Observe Leuwigede S16 Library to Capture Indramayu’s Smart City

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – On Friday, September 26, 2025, five students from the Indramayu State Polytechnic (Polindra) Department of Informatics Engineering, Smart City Information Systems Study Program, conducted a field observation visit to the Leuwigede S16 Library in Widasari District, Indramayu Regency. This activity was part of their Business Process Management course assignment, aiming to capture the role of literacy in building a smart city ecosystem that can improve the welfare and quality of life of the community.

The five students were Fatimah Az-Zahra, Syekha Nabila Mahendra, Dinda Ratu Balqis, Uhud Mujahidah Alfanani, and Nur Gustin Fauziyah. During the visit, they had direct discussions with the library management and observed the literacy optimization process that has been underway since the library’s inception.

Sheikh Nabila Mahendra expressed her admiration for the S16 Library’s efforts in promoting literacy, despite its limited facilities. “The S16 Library has been able to optimize literacy in Indramayu despite its limitations. They leverage local potential and collaborate with various parties so that literacy continues to grow and have a real impact,” she said.

Echoing this sentiment, Uhud Mujahidah Alfanani expressed her appreciation for the management’s consistent literacy efforts. “The S16 Indramayu Library deserves appreciation for its consistent literacy initiatives and management, creating a vibrant and vibrant environment for literacy that revitalizes the community,” Uhud said.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Khoeri, the manager of the S16 Library, outlined the library’s long journey in building a literacy ecosystem in Indramayu. “From 2018 to 2025, we have continuously strived to realize a smart city through literacy. We have made every effort to manage the process by partnering with students from universities in Indramayu and several schools to ensure the literacy ecosystem in Indramayu remains vibrant,” he explained.

Nur Gustin Fauziyah added the importance of support from all parties for optimal smart city management. “Smart cities require optimal management and policies overseen by all parties, especially the government,” she emphasized.

This visit is expected to be a first step for Polindra students to understand the implementation of the smart city concept through literacy, as well as encourage collaboration between academia, the community, and the government in realizing Indramayu as a literacy-based smart city.**
