SEMARANG – JayaNews.com – The creative spirit of students from the Visual Communication Design (DKV) program at UNNES returns with “Pasar Branding 7: JOYLAB,” held from September 14–19, 2026, at the B9 Gallery of Semarang State University (UNNES). This exhibition serves as a space for appreciation and the exploration of design solutions addressing real-world challenges—specifically the development of visual identities and packaging designs for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).
Pasar Branding consistently showcases student work in brand identity development, ranging from logos and mascots to their application on packaging, uniforms, stationery, booths, and even vehicles. Utilizing case studies and real clients, the resulting works go beyond mere academic projects; they offer immediate potential for business owners to strengthen their product image and competitiveness.
Carrying the theme “JOYLAB,” the exhibition embodies a spirit of play, experimentation, collaboration, and the creation of something new through design. This concept reflects a creative process that focuses not only on the final outcome but also on the courage to explore visual possibilities.
The exhibition was opened by Dr. Eko Raharjo, M.Hum., Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) at UNNES. He emphasized the importance of synergy between design education, the creative industry, and local business development.
The event coordinator, Dr. Rahina Nugrahani, M.Ds., noted that Pasar Branding 2026 involved over 40 participants. They came not only from UNNES but also from ITS, UM, UDINUS, and BINUS University.
“Pasar Branding is expected to serve as a meeting point between the academic world and the needs of the community and industry,” she said.
In addition to the exhibition, the event featured a Design Clinic, Creative Workshop, Alumni Sharing session, and Art Performances. The series of events concluded with the DKV Awards 2026, honoring the best works.**
