Poem : When water finds a path

When water finds a path

Where does water flow…
Of course, from upstream to downstream.
It’s easy to say there’s no need to worry.
Perhaps the shame has long since faded.

Water is the source of life.
It never comes to destroy.
It seeks the path that was once provided.
Before the map was changed by power.
By interests and greed.

Trees fall
without a chance to say goodbye.
To loyal roots that become water catchment.
The roar of engines that supposedly aren’t driven.
But the wilderness is destroyed, scattered.

Upstream, the water seeks a place to pool.
Downstream, houses learn the meaning of loss.
Until everything disappears, leaving behind memories.

Humans call it a disaster.
But nature is speaking.
In a language rich with meaning.
About the limits of balance.
About abandoned trusts.

Decision-making tables are slippery with bound hands.
Meanwhile, the bandang (bandang) is recording the names of the people.
They never participate in meetings.
But they always bear the consequences.

Replacement trees will take a long time to restore the situation.
Water continues to flow, finding its way.
How can water become a source of life?
So plant trees of awareness.

In every heart.
In every corner of the country.
At every turn of the day.
So that Indonesia remains eternal.
