Puppet Show Enlivens Children’s Christmas Celebration for BAMAG Jombang West Region
JOMBANG-JAYA NEWS.COM – Joyful laughter and songs of celebration filled the room as more than 150 children celebrated Christmas together at the Children’s Christmas event organized by the Inter-Church Consultative Body (BAMAG) of Jombang West Region on Sunday (December 7, 2025). The children in attendance came from 18 churches of various denominations across four sub-districts: Gudo, Perak, Ngoro, and Bandar Kedungmulyo.
The event, themed “God is Present to Save Families,” became a special moment for children to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in both an enjoyable and meaningful way.
The peak of the children’s excitement occurred when the ABC Movement team from Surabaya performed a puppet show. This method of conveying the Christmas message through adorable puppets succeeded in making the children laugh, clap, and even sing along.

“The puppets were so cute and the story was exciting. I’m very happy to join this Christmas event because there was a puppet show and I could sing together with my friends,” said one enthusiastic participant.
Tony Gunawan, a speaker from the ABC Movement team, delivered an important message behind the cheerfulness. He reminded the children to always pray for their families.
“God is present to save families. Children must pray for their parents and siblings so they continue to trust in God. Let us celebrate Christmas with togetherness and joy within our families,” Tony said in his reflection.
Christina Sudibyo, Chairperson of the Children’s Commission of BAMAG Jombang, explained the deeper purpose behind this year’s children’s Christmas celebration. According to her, this event is not merely a festive celebration but also a means to instill values of love in the younger generation.
“Our hope is that through this celebration, children will love God more. When children love God, their families will also experience God’s love. In this way, families can be saved,” Christina explained hopefully.

Christina added that the family is the main foundation in building a child’s faith. Therefore, the theme chosen this year is highly relevant to current conditions, where families face various challenges.
The BAMAG Jombang West Region children’s Christmas celebration demonstrated the beauty of inter-church unity. The 18 churches from various denominations that participated showed that differences do not prevent Christians from celebrating Christmas together in joy.
Throughout the event, children from various churches performed worship songs and dances. Each performance received enthusiastic responses from other participants. Presentations by Sunday School children from several churches added to the celebration’s festivity.
“We are grateful to be able to gather children from various churches. This teaches them from an early age that we are all one big family in Christ,” Christina added.
The children’s enthusiasm was clearly visible from the beginning to the end of the event. They did not merely sit and listen but actively sang, clapped, and interacted throughout the performance. This atmosphere of joy also spread to the parents and companions in attendance.
Parents appeared proud watching their children celebrate Christmas with full happiness. Some parents even joined in singing along with their children.
At the end of the event, the organizing committee wished all participants a Merry Christmas 2025. The event concluded with a group prayer and photo session as a beautiful memento of this year’s children’s Christmas celebration.
The BAMAG Jombang West Region children’s Christmas celebration 2025 ended successfully, leaving a profound impression on the children about the true meaning of Christmas: God’s love that saves families.***
