Puan Dharma Ayu’s Shawl Cultural Festival “The Young Generation Rises to Preserve Heritage and Revitalize Tradition”
INDRAMAYU, Jaya News.Com – The spirit of cultural preservation is once again echoed through the Puan Dharma Ayu Shawl Cultural Festival, themed “Empowered Youth, Preserving Heritage, Reviving Tradition.” This event provides a collaborative space between the younger generation, artists, and the community to preserve and revitalize local traditional values, Sunday, April 26, 2026.
A speech by the Village Head of Kenanga Village, Sindang District, Indramayu Regency, Darpani, stated that “The Puan Dharma Ayu Shawl Cultural Festival is a cultural event showcasing a variety of traditional arts, youth creativity, and cultural education for the wider community,” he said.
This activity involves cultural communities, artists, and the younger generation, and is supported by the Dana Indonesiana program as a form of commitment to preserving national culture.
This festival will be held soon as part of a series of cultural events in Indramayu Regency in 2026.
Located in the Indramayu region, this festival is centered on the Kenanga village soccer field, Sindang sub-district, a strategic location easily accessible to the public. This activity aims to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of preserving cultural heritage, while simultaneously embracing it as a form of identity and strength in facing the tide of modernization.

Darwinih, S.Psi., Founder of the Puan Dhamma Ayu Scarf Foundation, was interviewed by the media and stated, “This festival is not just a spectacle, but also a guide for the younger generation to remain grounded in cultural roots. With the spirit of empowered youth, ancestral heritage is not only preserved but also revived with a fresher and more relevant face,” she said.
