The Dream of an Independent Village in Indramayu Like Gadog Village in Cianjur

Gadog Village, Pacet District, Cianjur Regency, with its Independent Village status, receives village funds and West Java’s BanProp (Property Assistance), a one-time transfer, and manages the Village Budget (APBDes) totaling Rp 5 billion annually.
Meanwhile, in Indramayu, which is categorized as 95% underdeveloped, the transfer is made in three installments, and the public doesn’t even know how much the Village Budget (APBDes) is each year.
So, will the Indramayu authorities have the political will to transform the village from underdeveloped to developed, and ultimately independent?
This political will will be evident during the simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkada) in Indramayu on December 10, 2025. **
