Pilgrimage to Bung Karno’s Tomb, TNI Commemorates 80th Anniversary with National Spirit
BLITAR-JAYA NEWS.COM – To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in 2025, approximately 240 people participated in a group pilgrimage to the Bung Karno Tomb (MBK), Jl. Ir. Soekarno No. 152, Bendogerit Village, Sananwetan District, Blitar City, on Sunday (September 28, 2025). The event carried the theme “TNI Prima, TNI Rakyat, Indonesia Maju,” reflecting the TNI’s commitment to continuously supporting the nation’s progress through collaboration with the people.
Present at the event were several high-ranking TNI, Polri, and Forkopimda officials. Among those present were Lieutenant General TNI (Mar) Nur Alamsyah, S.E., M.M., M.Tr. (Han) as Commander of the Naval Education and Training Command (Kodiklatal), Rear Admiral TNI Ali Triswanto, S.E., M.Si (Dankodaeral V), Rear Admiral TNI Sugiarto, S.T., M.Si (Deputy Commander of Kodiklatal), Brigadier General TNI Zainul Bahar, S.H., M.Si (Kasdam V/Brw), Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Hendro Suwito (Ir Kodiklatal), as well as officials from the Navy, Air Force, National Police, and the Blitar Raya regional government. Their presence demonstrated unity and togetherness in honoring the services of the nation’s heroes.
The pilgrimage began with a report from the event officer, followed by a tribute to the spirit of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno, a moment of silence, and the laying of a wreath by the pilgrimage leader. The event continued with a wreath-laying at Bung Karno’s grave, a prayer led by the caretaker, and the presentation of souvenirs and a group photo in front of the grave.
In his remarks, Lieutenant General Nur Alamsyah, Commander of the Naval Education and Training Command (Kodiklatal), emphasized that this pilgrimage was not merely an annual ritual, but a concrete manifestation of respect for the nation’s founder. “Why must it be at Bung Karno’s grave? Because we know who he was, our Proclaimer, a figure of immense merit. We can learn many lessons from him, especially for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), in remaining loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Pancasila, and the 1945 Constitution,” he said.
Nur Alamsyah further expressed his hope that Bung Karno’s fighting spirit would be inherited by all levels of society, especially the younger generation. “Our Proclaimer is a special figure who should be emulated by all Indonesians. If the younger generation can emulate Bung Karno’s spirit and struggle, God willing, our country will be even better in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Commander of the 0808/Blitar Military District Command, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Hendra Sukmana, M.Han, stated that this group’s pilgrimage is an annual TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) event commemorating its anniversary. He believes this event is an important opportunity to commemorate the services of heroes and instill the values of heroism in all TNI soldiers.
“This pilgrimage aims to commemorate the heroes’ services, foster a spirit of patriotism, and foster a love for the homeland among all soldiers. With this spirit, it is hoped that the TNI will become even more united with the people in maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” stated the Commander (Dim0808).**
