Prof. Dr. Sutan Nasomal Urges the President of the Republic of Indonesia to Impoverish Corruptors and Imprisonment to Ensure a Deterrent Effect!
JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – “So far, issues regarding corruptors and their punishments seem to be just words, and the perpetrators consider them to be the case. The number of corruptors in the Republic of Indonesia continues to grow, and their numbers haven’t decreased. Just look at them, because the perpetrators consider it normal, right?” said Prof. Dr. Sutan Nasomal, an international law expert and economist, answering questions from editors-in-chief of online and print media outlets at his office at the Merdeka Opposition Party headquarters in Jakarta on Sunday (September 21, 2025).
Corruption cases involving state officials are no longer a secret. These individuals resort to various methods of corruption, using any means necessary. Regulations and legal principles are circumvented in various ways, allowing them to be manipulated.
Prof. Dr. KH. Sutan Nasomal, SH, MH, a legal and economic expert, answered the media’s question about when corruption would end so that Indonesia could progress.
Prof. Dr. KH. Sutan Nasomal, SH, MH, replied: “The President of the Republic of Indonesia, General Haji Prabowo Subiyanto, who is revered and respected by all nations of the world, must have the courage to say, ‘IF ANY STATE OFFICIAL, FROM THE LOWEST TO THE HIGHEST, OR THE ELITE, COMMITS CORRUPTION, THEY ARE NOT IMMUNITY FROM THE LAW. PLEASE EXPOSE THEM AND IMPose THE SEVEREST PUNISHMENT. CONFISCATE THEIR CORRUPTED ASSETS.”
If the law remains only sharp at the bottom and blunt at the top, Indonesia will not progress. Don’t treat the people as cash cows, enriching officials and then making them rich off the sweat and blood of the poor.
Indonesia has lost trillions of rupiah to corrupt officials working in groups. Therefore, special attention is needed to arrest these corrupt officials and recover their proceeds. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) must not be weakened, and if necessary, a money laundering task force must be established.
These politically correct individuals, supported by political parties to secure important government positions, must be monitored. These “pie-sharing” agreements, whether for projects or programs that drain state funds, provide a space for these corrupt officials to indulge in corruption without oversight and without legal action.
Therefore, collective corruption occurs and is perpetrated by individuals in the House of Representatives (DPR) and the government.
Prof. Dr. KH. Sutan Nasomal, SH, MH, received a wide variety of questions from the public. One of them is, “Many corrupt individuals are committing corruption, wasting Indonesian state funds through state projects or important government programs with large budgets. These corrupt individuals are carefully arranging for every law enforcement official’s desk to receive a share of the money, leaving them fearless of law enforcement.
The most important thing now is for the entire public to await the courage of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to expose these elite corrupt individuals and money laundering so that they receive the harshest punishment.
Public trust in the law has almost been lost. This is a very serious matter and requires total overhaul.
Reforms within the police, prosecutors, and judiciary are crucial to prevent corrupt individuals from backing these corrupt individuals who share out the proceeds of corruption.
If the President of the Republic of Indonesia is firm and courageous in confronting these elite corrupt individuals, Indonesia will advance economically and the law will be free from its mafia.
More than 70% of the Indonesian people are already in economic hardship and living in poverty because these corrupt individuals are free to rob without being touched by the law.***
