Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim seemed to feign surprise when he confided in KDM, the Governor of West Java, that thousands of people in Indramayu had been diagnosed with HIV.
Of course, as an artist, Lucky Hakim is well-versed in the world of glitz and glamour, and within that glitz and glamour, the main focus is on tourism and its various forms.
KDM wasn’t surprised by Lucky’s outpouring, and even responded with a joke, saying, “How does the Regent know about the HIV figures?” He even explained that in Indramayu, during the holidays, the cars entering the interior are all high-quality cars from outside the city.
The public in Indramayu is not surprised by the variety of entertainment, culinary, and tourism.
Every coffee shop in the city also offers milk and slime milk.
If you leave the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, you’ll inevitably pass through CI. At night, you’ll see bustling young women ready to be asked out.
And if you walk from Jatibarang to Kerangkeng at night, even at 2 a.m., it’s still bustling, both at entertainment venues like Aloha and the dimly lit warungs in Jayalaksana Village and Kedokan Agung Village. According to the owner of the dimly lit warung, identified only as T, this glamorous world is bustling from 11:00 a.m. until dawn. There are over 60 of them in Kedokan Bundar District alone.
Doctor D, the former Head of the Indramayu Regency Health Office, shared two interesting points.
First, he once recorded data on pimps from Patrol to Kandanghaur, and found that there were 50 pimps, each with between five and ten foster children.
Second, pregnant women are HIV-positive in Santri villages, while not in Abangan villages.
The Regent of Indramayu and his Deputy have been very positive about the Indramayu Mengaji (Quran Recitation) program. The question is, what is the methodology for delivering the Quran lessons to stakeholders in the entertainment, culinary, and entertainment industries?
Besides providing guidance to these clubbing stakeholders, if the government were to participate, it would generate significant regional revenue (PAD) similar to Jakarta.**
