Strengthening Strategic Partnership, TNI Commander Receives Visit from Singapore Army Chief of Staff
JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – The commitment to strengthen defense cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore was reaffirmed through a courtesy visit by the Chief of Staff of the Singapore Army (Kasad), Major General Cai Dexian, to TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (8/7/2025).
Beginning with a solemn military welcome ceremony and honor guard, this visit became a symbol of the strength of bilateral relations, especially in the field of cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
In a warm and friendly meeting, the two military leaders discussed a number of strategic initiatives that had been established, as well as opening up opportunities for new collaboration. Some of the main topics discussed included joint exercises, military education and training programs, personnel exchanges, and strengthening military communications to respond to security dynamics in the Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific regions.
The TNI Commander expressed his appreciation for the close relationship between the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), and underlined the importance of an adaptive defense partnership amidst current global challenges.
“The relationship between the TNI and SAF has shown significant progress in various collaborations. I believe this visit further strengthens our trust and strategic collaboration in maintaining regional stability,” said the TNI Commander.
Meanwhile, Major General Cai Dexian conveyed the SAF’s commitment to continue to forge close relations with the TNI as a strategic partner in the region. He also hoped and encouraged the two Armies to continue to be actively involved in various bilateral activities, including joint exercises in multilateral defense forums.
At the end of the event, both parties exchanged souvenirs as a form of friendship and a sign that the Indonesia-Singapore military relationship continues to grow in the spirit of a mutually strengthening partnership.**
