Poet Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak, Entering the Age of 64, His Work Continues to Flow, Unstoppable
JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS COM – The creative process of writing literary works (read: poems) by Poet Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak, in entering the age of 64, his poetry continues to flow unstoppable.
It is recorded that until now hundreds of his poems have been published and aired in approximately 300 online media (websites) and digital magazines in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Even to this day, Poet Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak – also known as a journalist and cleric – continues to write poetry, precisely when he had his 64th birthday last Friday (June 20, 2025).
“I have a motto, writing poetry never dies. Keep writing poetry until the door of mercy closes,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon (6/24/2025).
Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak, was born in Surabaya on June 20, 1961. Hundreds of his poems have been published in 7 single poetry anthologies, and 35 poetry anthologies with poets throughout Indonesia.
Since 1980 to 2025, his poems have been published in 23 print media (newspapers, magazines, and magazines).
His poems have also been published abroad such as Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Bangladesh, and India.
He is often invited to read poetry at the Jakarta Arts Center (PKJ) Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Jakarta, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI-Jakarta Station), Balai Pustaka Literature Cafe, and a number of literary community places in the Jabodetabek area.
Two of his poems entitled “Writing Poems for the President Episode Two” and “Meditation of the Stone” have been made into poetic songs by Composer & Pianist Ananda Sukarlan.
Works as a journalist and lives in Pamulang, South Tangerang City.
