Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak, a Prolific & Energetic Poet
TANGERANG CITY – JAYA NEWS COM – Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak was born in Surabaya on June 20, 1961. Hundreds of his poems have been published in seven solo poetry anthologies and 50 collaborative poetry anthologies with poets throughout Indonesia.
“From 1980 to 2025, my poetry has appeared in 23 print media (newspapers, newsletters, and magazines) and has been published in approximately 300 online media (websites) and digital magazines in Indonesia and Malaysia,” Pulo Lasman Simanjuntak told JayaNews.com on Sunday morning, August 10, 2025, in South Tangerang City.
His poetry has also been published internationally, including in Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Bangladesh, and India. He is frequently invited to read poetry at the Jakarta Arts Center (PKJ) Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Jakarta, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI-Jakarta Station), Balai Pustaka Literature Cafe, and several literary community venues in the Greater Jakarta area.
“Two of my poems, “Writing Poetry for the President Episode Two” and “Meditation on the Stone,” have been adapted into poetic songs by composer and pianist Ananda Sukarlan,” he continued.
He works as a journalist and lives in Pamulang, South Tangerang City.
