Building Educational Hope on the Eve of the Anniversary: Warm Synergy between Tutors from the Al Zaytun PKBM and the Gantar PGRI

INDRAMAYU-JAYANEWS.COM – Saturday night, May 23, 2026, the sky above the Pilang Block, Balairaja, Gantar District, Indramayu, looked so serene. A sprinkling of twinkling stars seemed to accompany the steps of Sri Wahyuni and Winarsih. That night, the two tutors from the Al Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) were breaking through the darkness not merely to attend a ceremonial invitation, but with a heartfelt mission: to encourage the Community Learners (WB) who were transforming their weary night into a stage for self-promotion.

Longing Anchored in the Mosque Courtyard

Sri and Winarsih’s footsteps were directed towards the courtyard of the Nurul Ikhsan Mosque. There, hundreds of pairs of eyes had already crowded the area celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the Indonesian Mutual Cooperation Association (PGRI). However, the two tutors’ gazes were immediately drawn to the left corner of the stage. A smile spread across her face as she saw a group of women in bright, radiant light blue uniforms. They were the Al Zaytun Community Learning Center (PKBM) alumni.
“I’ll support them and watch them perform,” whispered Sri Wahyuni proudly.
The teacher’s presence immediately sparked a warm atmosphere. From a distance, enthusiastic waves greeted them. Nurul Rohmah, the Class B1 Class President, even rushed over, greeted them respectfully, and escorted the two teachers to their seats.
That evening, the Al Zaytun PKBM educators were indeed in full attendance. Among the guests were Ust. Supriyadi, Ust. Turaikhan, Ust. Musta’in Sultoni, and Ust. Sutar. In fact, the person busiest in his neat blue suit, keeping the event organized, was Ust. Tardi, S.Pd., the PKBM tutor who served as the driving force behind the organizing committee that evening.

Three Years of Progressive Synergy

At 7:30 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), the event began solemnly with the recitation of the Basmallah (the name of Allah) and the three stanzas of the national anthem *Indonesia Raya*. The spirit of mutual cooperation was palpable as the Chairman of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI), Mr. Pujo Utomo, S.Sos., outlined the association’s programs. One of its flagship programs is the eradication of Quranic illiteracy and istighazah (religious practice) for children and mosque congregations, entrusted to Ust. Musta’in Sultoni, S.Pd., a clear demonstration of how PKBM tutors integrate and serve the community.
Entering its third year, PGRI reflects on itself as a dynamic, progressive, and contemporary organization, keeping pace with the times. However, all of this progress remains tied together by one central axis: the *Spirit of Nahniyah* (togetherness) that values worship solely for the sake of Allah SWT. The evening’s solemnity culminated in a powerful sermon from Ust. Drs. Suherman Sururi, M.Pd.

A Surprise Behind the Wedding Curtain

The audience’s tension was broken when the women’s choir took the stage. Among them was a familiar face: Ilawati, S.Pd., who is also a PKBM tutor. With great emotion, they sang “Tanah Airku” (My Homeland). Their harmonious vocal harmony earned thunderous applause from the audience.
The excitement continued when the MC asked the dignitaries, including Sri Wahyuni, to come up on stage to witness the ribbon cutting. Represented by the Head of Pilangsari Hamlet, Mr. Hendi (representing the Kuwu Baleraja, Mr. Anton), the ribbon was cut.
*Screw!* The curtain on the stage opened. *An Aesthetic Surprise:*

Loud applause immediately erupted as the curtain opened, revealing a stunningly beautiful wedding stage decoration. That evening, PGRI officially launched a new business line: wedding decoration rentals, complementing its existing chair, table, and sound system rentals for the organization’s independence.

After the event on stage, Sri Wahyuni immediately approached the line of women in light blue uniforms. “The ladies looked great, and the wedding stage was decorated… *wow*, so beautiful!” Sri praised sincerely.
“Who’s the tutor first, Ustazah Sri Wahyuni!” joked Mrs. Poniyam, one of the Learning Community, which was immediately met with laughter. “Halah, of course,” Sri chimed in, blushing.

“Ma’am, what color is the photo background?”

A unique and amusing story happened when Sri Wahyuni was about to return to her guest seats. She was suddenly stopped in her tracks by a woman who extended her hand to shake. Without further ado, the woman asked, “Ma’am, what color is the photo background requirement?”
Sri was stunned and confused. *Who is this lady? Asking about what?* she thought to herself.
Seeing the tutor’s confusion, the woman smiled and continued, “She means the PKBM registration requirements, Ustazah.”
Sri immediately burst out laughing. It turned out that a woman named Cori, a resident of Blok Pilang, recognized Sri as a PKBM tutor and took advantage of the opportunity to enroll in the school. “Oh God, at times like these, there’s always a blessing in the form of prospective Learning Citizens,” Sri said to herself, grateful for the unwavering magnet of education.

A Happy Stage at the End of the Night

Towards the end of the event, the women
the mothers once again rocked the stage with a philosophical Sundanese song titled “Jang.” Their synchronized movements were led by a conductor who delivered an extraordinarily energetic and varied performance.
The atmosphere became even more vibrant when the MC again called Sri Wahyuni to the front to encourage her. Not wanting to be left alone, Sri invited her fellow tutors to join her. The courtyard of the Nurul Ikhsan Mosque transformed into a lively, communal stage filled with laughter and joy.
At 9:30 PM WIB, the reverberations of “hamdalah” (prayer) officially concluded the anniversary evening. It may have been late, but the invited guests left with heartfelt memories of mutual cooperation, the warmth of community education, and the beauty of down-to-earth synergy.***
