Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan to Attend Poetry and Short Story Anthology Book Launch
JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Veronica Tan will be present as one of the speakers at the literary event launching a poetry and short story anthology book entitled “Flap Your Wings, Mother, Red and White Children, Not Afraid of Problems.”
Together with the Indonesian Literary Inspiration Park (TISI), the event will take place at the HB. Jassin Literary Documentation Center (PDS), on the 4th floor of the Panjang Ali Sadikin Building at the Jakarta Arts Center (PKJ) Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Jakarta on Monday afternoon (December 22, 2025).

This was stated by Octavianus Masheka, Chair of the Indonesian Literary Inspiration Park (TISI), to reporters in Jakarta on Monday morning (December 15, 2025).
According to her, in 2021, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati (Bintang Puspayoga), gave a foreword for the poetry anthology “93 Poets Reading Mother.”
Meanwhile, in 2024, the Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Veronica Tan, gave a foreword for the poetry anthology “Mother, I Am Your Child,” a joint poetry anthology of 96 poets reading mothers.
“And again in 2025, the Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection, Veronica Tan, delivered a foreword for the joint poetry anthology “Kepak Sayap Bunda, Anak Merah Putih Tidak Takut Masalah” (Flap Your Wings, Red and White Children Are Not Afraid of Problems).
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection, Veronica Tan, for her significant role in the publication of this book. This is proof that the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection (PPPA) is deeply committed to the issues of mothers and children, expressed in literary works,” said Bung Octa—his nickname—via cell phone.
The approximately 190 poets—from various regions in Indonesia—who contributed poetry manuscripts, and the approximately 90 short story writers who submitted their work for this anthology—show that poets and short story writers are committed to the issues of mothers and children.

This literary event with TISI (Indonesian Literature Institute) at the end of 2025 will also feature speakers Reza Indragiri and a speech by Nasruddin Djoko Surjono (Head of the Jakarta Library and Archives Office), moderated by Swary Utami Dewi.
Meanwhile, poetry readers will include Nunung Noor El Niel (Bali), Rissa Churria (Bekasi), Fanny Jonathans Poyk (Depok), Jamal Rahman Iroth (Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi), Farin Nisa (Yogyakarta), Indar (Jakarta), Nurhayati (Bekasi), Ferlynda Natasya Andreana (Jakarta), Kurnia Effendi (Jakarta), and Rinidi Yanti Ayahbi (Depok).**
