INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – Every time Eid al-Adha arrives, the atmosphere in Al-Zaytun always holds a deep longing. Not only as a moment of worship, but also a space of inspiration for the academic community, student guardians, and the wider community. Since long ago, this celebration has been eagerly awaited. Because, in every Eid al-Adha sermon, Syaykh Al-Zaytun always conveys ideas that are fresh, inspiring and raise awareness.
In 1446 Hijri, coinciding with June 6 2025, his sermon took a direction that inspired and raised hope: the importance of carrying out a revolutionary transformation in the world of Indonesian education.
In front of thousands of Eid Adha prayer congregations who filled the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Mosque, the Shaykh called for an invitation to devote thoughts, energy, and potential to prove devotion to the country through dignified education.
“This Eid al-Adha is not only about slaughtering animals. But about slaughtering our egos, and dedicating all our potential to national development, this is the message captured from the Eid al-Adha,” said the Shaykh.
Thousands of Guardians of Students Present, Uniting Love and Prayer
No less than a thousand guardians of students attended this year, coming from various regions. They not only participated in congregational prayers, but also took advantage of this opportunity to visit and encourage their beloved sons and daughters who are studying at the Ma’had Al-Zaytun.
This togetherness strengthens the emotional bond between family and educational institutions. A rare momentum, yet full of meaning — a place of emotion, prayer, and hope united in takbir and echoes of love for children who are being nurtured to become a new generation.
Distribution of Qurban Animals: Touching More Than Six Thousand Lives
Not only the congregation who attended felt the glory of Eid al-Adha. The surrounding community also felt it through the Bakti Udhiyah Ma’had Al-Zaytun program. This year, 191 qurban animals were slaughtered, consisting of 32 cows, 38 goats, and 121 sheep.
The distribution of qurban meat targeted 6,081 beneficiaries, with details of 3,816 receiving a complete package containing 1.8 kg of fresh meat and 5 kg of rice, while 2,265 people received meat only. This distribution reached various levels of society — from residents around the campus to farming and labor communities.
More than just a distribution, this is a manifestation of love and social solidarity. A form of Al-Zaytun’s real presence in the midst of a society that is facing difficulties in life.
Qurban Sent Alive to Regions, Slaughtered Together with the Community
Interestingly, some qurban animals were sent alive to areas such as Gresik (East Java), Menes (Banten), Lembang (Bandung), Cipatujah (Tasikmalaya), and Gandul (Depok). There, the qurban was slaughtered together with the community, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and trust between Ma’had and the community.
Gresik: 2 cows for 604 recipients
Menes-Banten: 1 cow for 267 recipients
Gandul-Depok: 4 goats for 28 recipients
Lembang-Bandung: 7 goats for 139 recipients
Cipatujah-Tasikmalaya: 3 goats for 121 recipients
Meanwhile, animals slaughtered on campus are processed at the Al-Zaytun RPH by certified personnel, adhering to the ethics of slaughtering according to the guidance of the Prophet: “Idza dhabbahtum fa ahsinu ad-dhibhah” — if you slaughter, then do it in the best way.”
The animals are placed in a quiet room before being slaughtered so that they are not stressed. The stunning process is carried out to minimize pain. The slaughtering is carried out with love, order, and manners — values instilled by Sheikh Al-Zaytun.
From Students to Teachers, All Serve
After the slaughter, the process of skinning, chopping, separating animal body parts, and packaging is carried out cooperatively by students, teachers, and employees. This is a moment of real spiritual education, where knowledge, charity, and manners are combined in one collective movement.
The distribution will be carried out for four days:
1. First day (June 6, 2025): For JKI and P3KPI members in campus areas such as Gantar, Haurgeulis, Kroya, Gabus Wetan, and Anjatan.
JKI: 893 people
P3KPI: 1,041 people
Farm workers and community leaders: 174 people
2. Second day (June 7, 2025): For JKI in Indramayu (482 people), Cirebon City/Regency (244 people), and 916 Al-Zaytun employees.
3. Third day (June 8, 2025): For teachers, lecturers, and partners of Mahad Al Zaytun as many as 1,015 recipients
4. Fourth day (June 9, 2025): For recipient communities in Jakarta and Depok.
In the midst of the community’s economic difficulties and social unrest, Ma’had Al-Zaytun is present as a source of spiritual, social and economic strengthening for the community.
