“INTERNET-LITERATE VILLAGE” PROGRAM

“INTERNET-LITERATE VILLAGE” PROGRAM

Creating a Smart, Self-Reliant, and Digitally Competitive Village.

1. Background.
In today’s digital era, the internet is no longer a secondary need. Access to information, education, and healthcare—as well as the marketing of MSME products—now relies on the internet.
However, a significant digital divide persists in many villages. Many residents do not yet know how to utilize the internet for productive purposes.

In response to this situation, the Village Government is launching the “Internet-Literate Village” program as a concrete step to bridge the gap and open up new opportunities for all residents.

2. Program Objectives.
This program aims to:
1. Improve digital literacy among residents, ranging from children and youth to the elderly.
2. Facilitate access to information regarding education, healthcare, commodity prices, and public services.
3. Encourage village MSMEs to go digital via marketplaces and social media.
4. Optimize online-based village government services to ensure speed and transparency.
5. Create a village that is smart, competitive, and well-informed.

3. Target Audience.
All village residents, with a focus on:
– Students (School & University): For online learning and research.
– Farmers & Fishermen: To check market prices, weather, and cultivation techniques.
– MSMEs: For product promotion via TikTok, Shopee, and WhatsApp.
– PKK (Family Welfare Movement) & Karang Taruna (Youth Organization): Training in creative content and online administration.
– Village Officials: For digital-based correspondence and data management.

4. Program Activities.
1. Free WiFi Hotspots: Installation of WiFi at the Village Hall, Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), and Village Field.
2. Digital Smart House: A learning space equipped with computers and laptops available for residents to borrow.
3. Routine Training: “From Tech-Illiterate to Tech-Savvy” classes held every Saturday. Topics: Computer basics, online sales, combating misinformation (anti-hoax)
4. Village Digital Ambassadors: Youth selected to act as tutors for other residents
5. Village Website & Social Media: A hub for information on activities, announcements, and village potential

5. Expected Benefits.
Through the “Internet-Savvy Village” program, residents become active participants in technology rather than mere spectators.
Farmers can sell produce directly to the city. Students can access scholarship information. Mothers can sell homemade cakes online. Youth can engage in freelance work from the village.

As the program’s motto goes: “From the Village, For a Digital Indonesia”

6. Conclusion.
The “Internet-Savvy Village” program is a long-term investment. The Village Government invites all community members to participate.
Let us ensure our village advances not only in physical infrastructure but also in knowledge and digital literacy.
